I have 2 processors, a 1GHz T-Bird and an Athlon 1700+ laying around. The 1GHz T-Bird is in my webserver currently with a gigabyte motherboard that uses PC133 ram. The heatsink fan plug must be broken because the heatsink fan spins constantly at full speed and as you can imagine that is incredibly annoying.

I have 2 sticks of 256MB of PC3200 laying around.

I need a socket A motherboard that can accept PC3200, would they all even though on newegg they are not listed to support it?

ie. could i put my PC3200 in this motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-153-014&depa=1
or some other motherboard that is not directly listed as supporting PC3200?

Would it just be clocked down to PC2700 or something?

Thanks

The clock rating on RAM is basically what its maximum supported speed is. I'm currently running DDR433 RAM clocked down to DDR400 on my KV8 MAX3. It won't be a problem at all, the motherboard will just cap the speed at the max it supports.
