Quick question about EXSi GPU passthrough with AMD R9 270

From what I've read, it's takes a bit of fiddling to get GPU passthrough working properly and the GeForce cards are gimped unless you get a Quadro
So my question is simply this - will a AMD R9 270 work for some light gaming? (I know I'll have to address the additional power for the card)

Also, what would you say the performance hit would be as opposed to being in a dedicated computer with the same specs? Just curious.

Dell PowerEdge T110 II
Xeon E3-1230 3.20GHz 4C/8T
16GB ram (soon to be 32)
Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD boot drive
(2X) 3TB drives in RAID 1 - storage

Thanks!

Yeah, should work great. I've played skyrim, gtav and fallout 4 on a 270x and can't say that I noticed any difference from bare metal. The vmx file edit for the pci hole was needed but not hard to do. I would advise committing all the ram and cores for the vm so it's not sharing those resources with other vm's.

0 problems here but im using an older card.
Performance hit? I doubt you could tell any real world difference. Probably a small difference in synthetic benchmarks. I ran some 3dMark test and I always scored comparable to other users with bare metal configurations.
