So I decided to change my server to Freenas 7.2 and I am trying to set it up right now with permissions and shares but I am having problems sharing in windows. I enabled CIFS/SAMBA and I can see it from a windows computer in the network. I also enabled shares and can see them from the network and can click in them. I also made a admin user to access the shares (bob) but when I go to write files to the shares I get access denied. I was under the impression that initially all the shares are Read/Write accessible because I do not have read only privileges on the share.

Also, this is being used in a home environment with six users max. Am I better off setting up a "Home" Group as most of the people will fit in that, and then make an exception on the individual level about certain files and folders?

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
