Just got my Gigabyte and Sapphire 6950's. Promptly unlocked them to 6970's successfully. Took some quick benchmarks of my crossfired 5850's @ 775/1200 to compare them to my new 6950's @ 880/1375. I did not test at higher than 2xAA levels as my 5850's run out of vram and crawl.

System: i5-750 @ 4.0Ghz, 8GB ram
Drivers: 10.12 and 10.12a
Resolution used for all games: 5760x1200
Results displayed in min/max/avg
16xAF always used unless listed otherwise
Tests performed using fraps in actual gameplay. Similar loop used for each test over about 5 minutes.

Those are some good results. I like that BC2 and Metro are playable on the 6950s with a 40+ min. Now i want to see how it compares to some 5870s.

damn nice results especially on BC2 and metro with above 60fps average, means theres probably some headroom for 4xAA.

I'll retest the 6950's with additional AA to get some numbers and see how they compare. The tests above were a apples/apples just to get an idea how much performance I gained at the same settings.
