Im looking to purchase this laptop:
Intel Centrino Mobile Technology
Intel Pentium M processor 750 (1.86GHz)
Intel® PRO/Wireless Network Connections 802.11a/b/g
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
15" SXGA+ TFT display
64MB ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON® X300 graphics
512MB DDR SDRAM
60GB HS HDD (5400 RPM)
Ultrabay Slim Multiburner Plus
3 year system/1 year battery limited warranty
Its a ThinkPad T43 and was wondering how the x300 video card is and wanted to know if anyone knew if ibm is going to come out with a better one. THis will be my laptop through college. I play cs and will want to play cs source and other newer games.

The Mobility x300 64MB is about equal to a 9600SE: both have 64-bit memory interfaces and are based on the same 4 pipeline core. I have mine overclocked (+115MHz core and +35MHz DDR memory) and it plays CS:S decently at low widescreen resolution (720x480) and 4:3 (800x600). Play lags (even overclocked) at 1024x768 and 1280x768.

The Mobility x300 64MB is not a fast card at all. If you have the option to upgrade, get the Mobility x300 128MB instead since that one uses a 128-bit memory interface and has faster core and memory speeds.

i guess i will call them up and see if they are going to come out with a better video card btw this is their top of the line laptop - i wanted to get @ least a 9700 mobility

dont we all.......dont we all :(
thing i really want is an x700 in here, or a x800 would be even better....
i mean...i can deal with my x300, but it'd be just so much nicer to have a faster graphics card to game with this thing.....even though i dont game much with it.
