Hello people,

im having the following specs and looking forward to upgrade them:

Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-S2
AMD Athlon X2 II 2.4 GHz
PowerColor AMD HD 7750 GDDR5 1GB
4GB (2*2GB) kingstone RAMS

im keeping the GPU, but im gonna change the rest...so what do you recommend me ?
i was suggested
Intel Core i5-4440 Haswell 3.1GHz 6M LGA 1150 Quad-Core
Intel Core I3-4130 Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 54W Dual-Core

Gigabyte GA-H87-HD3 LGA 1150 Motherboard

G.skill RipjawsX 8GB (1 x 8GB) 1866 CL10 1.5V

do you have any other opinions ? im kinda open to any other suggest if it would be giving good performance.

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
Gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Around 500 bucks
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible.
Egypt
4) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. Please list out all the parts you'll need.
CPU , MB , RAM
5) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. List make and model.
6) Will you be overclocking?
Don't think so...probably no.
7) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?
1280x1024
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
In 2 months
9) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?
Win-7 Ultimate 64-bit

questions answered, didn't notice that sticky...sorry.

btw i was advised not to buy the G.skill RipjawsX 8GB (1 x 8GB) 1866 CL10 1.5V for a non-K processor or an OC'd K processor.
so my choices are
Gigabyte GA-H87-HD3 LGA 1150 Motherboard
Intel Core i5-4440 Haswell 3.1GHz 6M LGA 1150 Quad-Core
Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL10 1.5V

but im still open to any other suggestions though.

Not a good choice for a mobo due to its reliability issues. I would look at the ASRock H87M Pro4 or MSI B85-G41 PC MATE instead.

Though what PSU and case do you have?

i have a traditional case and im gonna upgrade the PSU anyways depending on the build wattage but i need to know what is gonna be the build first lol
and btw i searched on the online market here in Egypt for the mobos you mentioned but i didn't find them :/

What online Egyptian computer hardware store are you buying from?

If you have a good quality PSU to begin with, you may not even have to upgrade the PSU. So what PSU do you have?

Also, again, what case do you have? Not all ATX cases are actually good.

i dunno if im allowed to post links here cos im kinda new to the forum but here it is [i believe you can search through it as its monstly in English]
http://www.egprices.com/en/

and i know ill need to upgrade my PSU anyways...it says LGA P4-500W but i know it doesn't come anywhere close to 500W

P.S: prices on this website are quoted in L.E (1 USD=6.8 L.E)

and thanks m8 for the help

and what about the RAMs and CPU ?
Intel Core i5-4440 Haswell 3.1GHz 6M LGA 1150 Quad-Core
Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL10 1.5V
those are good ? or what is a better option with the ASUS B85M-E Socket 1150 ?

Is "500 bucks" 500 LE or 500 USD? (some international buyers use USD)

What games are you looking to play? obviously the budget restricts you from many modern games at medium settings or lower. Your options are to drop down to an i3 and upgrade your GPU to something like the R7 265, or get the i5 and upgrade your GPU in the future. The latter option has greater longevity, but then again, the B85 board does not offer much of an upgrade path either.

Both are good choices.

actually my current station can handle most modern games on high settings and don't ask me how lool so i think with such a huge upgrade in RAMs and CPU it would give the performance im expecting.
the thing is that for some reason i don't wanna upgrade from an Athlon to the I3 cos at the end of the day its still a dual core even with a big performance difference...at some point the concept of a dual core will be a big fall back with future games.
and i know with me choosing the I5 i'll have to change the GPU later on.

Both are good choices.

so now the GB mobo or the Asus ? :D

forgot to ask you Dengman, what brands of GPUs does the ASUS B85M-E supports ?

What are you considering? The Asus B85M-E will support any video card that you have the proper drivers for.

500 for mobo cpu and ram?

AMD like you had before would be a smarter choice.

ok guys im trying to get like an estimated PSU wattage on any online calculator and for maximum it didn't exceed 350 watt on many websites, so do you still recommend me the SeaSonic S12II Bronze 520W 80 PLUS ?

We are still recommending a 500+ watt PSU because most of the lower-wattage PSUs that are available in your country are overpriced and/or of inferior quality.

Exactly this. If there were good quality lower wattage PSUs available in your country for a reasonable price, I would have recommended those. But from the site that you linked here, I could not find a single lower wattage PSU that was both good and reasonably priced.
