Ok I just got a laptop and want to take it over to my friends house to do some MP gaming... now heres how it's gonna be setup: his computer and my laptop will be connected by a crossover cable (he has w98 and i have wxp), he has the internet connection. How can we both play on the internet on one connection connected through a crossover? Anybody help me, I rarely delve into the networking side of computers. Thanks!

Well, AFAIK Windows 98 does not have any built-in internet connection sharing ability, so no, you would not both be able to play on the internet. However, why are you going to use a cross-over cable between the computers? Why no just plug straight into the router that he is plugged into. Voila

Im afraid he has dialup...
But it's more fun to play in the same room... is there a program that allows you to share that works for w98?
