Question about DiamondMax 10 and Maxline III

The drives have the same firmware, buffer, and and geometry. Maxtor claims that the MaxLine uses better components and tighter tolerances during assembly to assure higher reliability to enterprise customers. That is the only difference. If you don't care about the two less years of warranty, save the bucks and get the DM10.

ML3 was $15 more on newegg than DM10. Right now my sata controler chip doesn't support NCQ, but i'll be upgrading soon.

On a side note: From my experiences with maxtor, you need as much warranty was you can squeeze out of them.

Heh, I hope the maxline 3's are good and reliable! I just installed a raid5 with 4 disks for a business.

Well, seeing every maxtor dive I've ever had needed to be RMAed a few times till I got one that actually worked...
