I've actually got both on order (I got a bit click happy) but I only need 1.

With the Q9400 I'll use the Motherboard in my sig, but I ordered some new ram since the Patriot is not so good at OCing.

Or with the P2 955, I also ordered a mobo and ram (either way, I'm not using this patriot stuff).

Which path should I take, I'm too indecisive to decide on my own. I'm leaning towards the easy drop and go Q9400, but I'm worried I won't be able to OC very well as the Intel board is notorious for being a bad overclocker. Or if I go with the AMD I would probably be able to OC it pretty well too.

I use this computer for gaming. That's it's primary function. I have a nice cooler to go with either CPU, so heat shouldn't be a problem. I game at 1920x1080.

Thanks in advance [H]

I'll make the move to the AMD platform. I can't imagine that I'll suddenly hate the Intel board any less because of a new processor. It will still probably not overclock anyway.

I guess it's time to back up the important stuff and get ready for a reformat :)

good choice....the AMD system is upgradable.....and that mobo should net you a nice healthy OC...just make sure you ordered the C3 stepping of the CPU, as it will OC better
