EIST = Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology - allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency, which can result in decreased average power consumption and decreased average heat production.
C1E (enchanced halt state) - to reduce power consumption when Idle
They work hand in hand... disable them before you overclock. I recommend you read this:

I hate youbump
I am at 3.2 stable, Idle at 27c load at 55c. using Scythe Ninja air cool. For that guy who cant OC past 2.8 on water cooling, you have a bad CPU. some CPU's can OC well and some can't , RMA it (claim it runs to hot, which it does) and get a new one. I can easily get to 3.4 when the weather gets cool, which is starting now.
I will say 15000+ on a Q6600 system it top notch. I get 12008 and I only have a 8800gtx. I will use the step up program to get their newest ones if they come out soon "crosses fingers." Yet, thats an amazing 3dmark score. hats off to ya. Do you have 4 gigs or 2 gigs of memory? I am using 4 gigs of Crucial Ballistix Tracers 6400. BTW. its basically a waste of money to get pc8500 with the Q6600, Its completely over kill. Tons of wasted room. 800 is perfect. even 533 is really good for this chip. I had to learn that the hard way. Bought the product, posted my purchase on the forums, then everyone started telling me the truth about overclocking the Q6600 and PC8500.
I went from 266MHz FSB to 271 to 281 to 296 to 300 then to 333. DO NOT go direct to 333.
.
I went direct to 400, does that make me [H]ard?
