Hey all,
I have a 12"PB g4, the newest revision. Totally stock config, and I am hurtin from this little ram.
Anyway, I have a spare stick that is PC2100 (200 pin SODIMM), but the PB calls for PC2700.
My question is, if I stick the older stick in, and it works, what are side effects of using slower ram?

slower performance really....but I don't think that it'll work.

You can try it, but I would just head over to newegg and buy a stick of crucial. 512 isn't all that spendy.

I'm not sure how the hardware works on Macs, but on PCs if you put in slower ram usally all the faster ram will clock down to the slower ram speed.

that is the same on the Mac...same technology...if you start to run into "odd" issues with the comp pull the RAM though as the system may not like it..won't hurt anything but if you do have problems get some crucial and you should be fine

It is curcial ram, but it will not work

I put in the ram
flashed pram
booted, and it did not detect.

I am going to try a few more things, but it looks like it wont work :(
