put an end to my CRT refresh rate woes

I've always used Nvidia's refresh rate override to keep it at a decent setting on my CRT monitor, since a lot of games insist on running at 60hz. However since upgrading to SLI I've found that it interferes a lot with most games, causing all sorts of problems like half the screen going blank, or SLI just not working.

I disabled that and tried another utility, RefreshLock, but it also causes SLI to stop working in a lot of cases.

With some games I have been able to go into the console and set a parameter to use a higher refresh rate.

Is there some way I can just delete all the 60hz modes so windows won't use them? Perhaps by editing a config file or something?

Is SLI limited to a specific refresh rate like Crossfire is? I know that ATI's initial Crossfire lineup was criticized for not being able to do over 60Hz.

No limitations as far as I'm aware, it's just that a lot of games don't let you select it (or only have a max setting of like 72hz), and forcing the refresh rate upsets SLI.
