PSU For 24 Harddrives

Can Anyone tell me how to work out the best psu for 24 drives

im told the more amps the better

could anyone tell me how many hdds could be run off each of these power supplys and how you worked it out

The reason you were told (semi-correctly) that more amps are better is because of the start-up amperage of each drive. Once the drives are running unless they are all being accessed and written to at the same time their power requirement goes way down. What other system parts are going to be pulling power from these drives?

I will also be running 3 rocket raid 2680 sas cards
And 32 gig ram

I am using that Antec HCG on 20 drives and it works great. I did rewire it myself though.

the aerocool is a dual rail and the antec is a quad rail power supply...better for gaming machine with graphics cards

you might be better looking for a single rail power supply with a single 12v rail in the 650 watt range.
