I want to stream music and movies Sony!
Hopefully the "more" they talk about has DLNA support, the ability to change the background, better Blu Ray support, and an option to reduce the stupid controller light bar brightness which nukes the battery.
This list of changes is only helping a minority of users that stream or want to record gameplay...
I agree with what you are saying about the lightbar, but here's what I did to remedy it. I'm totally fine with the brightness and won't be changing it once the option becomes available.
Very underwhelming update, unfortunately.
I have painter's tape over my light bars. So classy
Overall I am more concerned about the battery life than the brightness. And the fact it's a pain in the ass to select my user every damn time I turn the controller back on
Yeah, that's got to be one of my biggest pet peeves with the PS4. I can't believe someone thought that would be a good idea. Really need an option to disable it. If I want to switch users, it's not going to be that often and so I wouldn't mind having to long press the PS Button or go through the UI like with the PS3.
Come on Sony, you've got to do better than this.
*gasp* An option for turning off the light bar might actually happen.
So, that thing that "will never happen" is gonna happen? Nice.
Shu responded that you will be able to dim, not completely turn off.
looks like it was a miscommunication lol. Yoshi is saying dimming only.
Does that lightbar serve any purpose?
It's used for tracking if you have the camera.
Without the camera, games can pretty much only use it for "mood effects".
I am fine with that, dimming it saves a lot of battery.
Oh god this thread makes me want to get a PS4 so badly!
Everyone can rejoice: the lightbar can be changed to Bright, Medium, and Dim.
There's some other decent updates in v1.70 as well.
About damn time that light bar kills the battery
Praise baby raptor jesus! Immediately setting mine to dim.
There's some interesting stuff in 1.70.
The pre-download function is greatly appreciated. Going to toy around with using the touchpad for typing. It's also nice to finally be able to use alternate payment methods like PayPal.
Curious to see what people can come up with using the SHAREfactory.
This patch finally allows you to set your receiver to 5.1 instead of 7.1.
Yeah, I just caught that, too. Granted it's actually after I added 2 more speakers
Not a bad update at all. My only other major request is being able to re-arrange the UI elements. There doesn't seem to be any way to order them or shift them around at all.
Hey all, Picked up a PS4. Happy Birthday Me.
Loving it, just need more game releases./
Join me online to rock it! So far I have inFAMOUS Second Son and Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
I havent played my PS4 since March lol. Thank god I canceled my preorder of inFamous.
I've been playing the HECK out of my PS4. Trials Fusion is addicting.. and I am still yet to make my first prestige on Call of Duty Ghosts... I got to level 35 on Wii U sold it... Got it for PC and leveled to 36... i'm on level 43 on PS4. I have Video Games A.D.D.
2nd impression Mine is collecting dust with Killzone resting on top. Waiting on Destiny...
I've had my PS4 for about 2 months now and I've only really played one game Metal Gear Solid V. As a whole I don't mind it but the one thing that drives me crazy is the light on the controller. Even after the new patch making it "dim" its still annoying. But I do think the controller is by far superior to the Dual shock 3 controller.
Overall I'm satisfied it only really cost me $20, cuz I traded in a PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and a bunch of games which credited me about $380.
Mine died after a couple of weeks. Took it back and didn't get another one. Only played it for a couple hours, Killzone which I honestly thought sucked, in that time frame. Wasn't too impressed. Will probably pick it up again when The Order comes out.
I 'm confused, wouldn't buying Infamous make you use your PS4?
Covered up my light bar with some light dims.
I haven't played TLoU yet, but when it hits PS4 I think that will be the time to grab one. Also looking forward to GTA V (which I haven't played either) and other possible PS3 HD versions.
Everyone got into the hype, and no big games have been released... I'm in the same boat as everyone else, bought it played select games for a short time and now it's sitting waiting for something to come out. Although MLB The The Show looks great.
Mine are cooler. Link to them.
Haha, personal preference. I have no use for the light so I blocked it almost entirely.
I haven't really played my PS4 lately, but i'm not selling it because I know when games like Uncharted come out i'm going to be glued to them for a while.
I'm barely playing mine right now...but I knew that would be the case. I barely played my launch PS3 for the first year, too. Once the exclusives start kicking in, I'm sure that will change.
Project Beast's release day is my deadline for getting a PS4.
I've been playing Final Fantasy 14 on it and having a good time. Aside from that, just waiting on DIII RoS for it so my wife and I can play together.
How does ff14 look on the ps4? I assume it's like high/max on pc?
I've been playing it a bit on my ps3 but it's stuck at < 30fps at 720p which makes my eyes bleed, lol.
It looks really nice and plays well on ps4. For some reason i enjoy this on ps4? I have a pc totally capable of running it, but playing on the couch relaxing or in remote play on my ps vita is fun.
I jump back and forth between my pc and ps3 with this game. My pc is downstairs in my mancave but my ps3 is connected to the living room tv. And yes, it's nice to sit down on the couch and play. I usually do my fates and quests on the ps3 but do dungeons and harder stuff on the ps3.
If I get a ps4 in the near future, i'm upgrading my account to the ps4 version.
I'm selling my PS4. I'm tired of waiting for games I want to come out. If it would at least work as a decent media server I'd likely keep it.
