It's strange that people can be so driven to (ultimately) self destruction. They have to know it can end no other way.
We must remove such people from society, and smart people have to know that. Eventually, we will catch you. They have to know that too. There's a strange pathology here.

1) most don't arrive that way. Most arrive by land. The cartels use the tunnels more than the coyote they pay, who have taken to charging the wall with numbers.

2) planes? Please. We'd know if unauthorized planes entered our airspace.

3) Tunnels? You do know the wall they are building has sensors that can detect if the ground underneath is disturbed, right?

4) There are very few points of entry by water that are safe, making the attempts by sea overly unprofitable for the cartels. Even if they could smuggle a small number of people by boat, they could not scale it like they have for their land operations, not even close.

I've done actual homework on this.

Mostly because smart alecs like you keep up with that same talking point, even though some actual research would have answered those questions already.

That's honestly something I find almost impossible to understand. When you read about someone being busted for soliciting kids from what turned out to be a cop (or a fake internet radical promising access to weapons/explosives); the reasonable assumption is that the person busted is tech-illiterate and rarely reads the news. Not someone in a job where it's impossible to not know that undercover cops are out in force on the net with fake profiles looking for perverts.

Yep. Not to mention a wall is only one aspect of a complete solution. We will need legislative changes as well to work in tandem with the wall.

No I don't agree with that at all. I am pro-equal rights, pro-equal opportunity, pro-equal pay - there is no reason, in nearly all cases, that a female cannot do what a male does. There are some cases where a male is better suited to the job, there are some cases that females are better suited to the job, but these are very very few and far between.

Gender has nothing to do with the suitability or value of a person.

I find this guy's alleged thoughts and actions despicable, deplorable, disgusting and would never ever do anything of the sort.

Not sure if the charges will stick or not. He did show up. There was a local guy here caught up in some stuff involving a supposed 16, almost 17 year old girl. He never showed up to the meeting place though. Charges were dropped in that case, and he is suing the state for it. None the less his life is pretty much ruined anyway.

You have to understand this. people tell themselves what they want to hear, and what they want to hear is I can get away with what I am doing. And you have to think if a person is so driven that they are willing to hurt other people to get what they want then you know that they are so driven to do that psychologically that they will convince themselves they can get away with it. And to be fair, some do. This idea that people get caught eventually is actually a pretty big myth. How many preachers in the Catholic church do you think molested kids and then died before this scandal was blown wide open? I would bet quite a few. And even in this very thread, we have one person telling about how they were approached and didn't do anything. The one thing I can say from my studies is always tell the police if you hear of something that would harm people. You may not respect them, they might not catch the person but in order for major criminals to get caught it usually takes them committing quite a few crimes before the police can get a good amount of evidence and or link the right person to the crime. Sometimes its just a filed complaint that is sitting in a database that is the key that a completely different police department in another state comes across that does what they need and breaks a case open. And you could save one persons life, not just literally but also figuratively, the damage this does to a kid, or anyone who is raped fucks them up good for life and has a butterfly effect on society.

Being 'pro' a bunch of things that already exist and are already punishible by law if an outlier is found.

We should be focusing on the individual, not the group, when discussing suitability or anything else for that matter.
Treating all members of any arbitrarily assigned or self-identified group is where things get all wonky and fall apart.

For example, I find that as a group, male feminist allies are creepy douchebags. That does not mean all are. It's only on an individual level one can sort through the good and the bad.
As a group, females tend to prefer people over things and as such are less likely to enter tech fields. On an individual level, some females may be able to out-code neckbeards.

The instances where as a group.....males are more suited to particular jobs for instance or females are more suited to particular jobs are not few and far between at all.
The more equal the playing field becomes, the more that fact becomes apparent. The field in the US is not level at all, it's biased towards putting people in positions they're not necessarily suitable for in the sake of 'diversity'.
Being able to say "we have a 50/50 ratio of males to females on our police force" holds more value in certain circles than to be able to say "we have hired the most suitable candidates for our police force". This applies to any group, not only males/females.

Your issue is that you are still looking at it as male vs female (groups) instead of on an individual level. I may be wrong about that but the way your post was written led me to that.

In a better world, we could use tech (advanced VR with actual sensations and stuff) to fix a lot of crap in our lives. People of middling intellect and above often believe they are too smart to get caught, which is pretty stupid. Though my belief is, that ordinarily smart people can be driven by their sicknesses or addictions to do incredibly stupid, horrible things.

Prison is a good place for him. Though I really doubt there is much chance for rehabilitation so the death penalty expanded to cover this may be the better solution for society.
