Program to check ram?

A while back I was having a memory problem and posted about it. Someone posted a link to a program that you put on a floopy, boot the computer with the disk in the drive and it runs this test on your memory to tell you if it has errors or not. Well it helped me to find out that my problem was my motherboards memory channels. So I searched, but to my dismay the forum doesnt go back that far anymore, so I couldnt find the thread. Im having ram problems(I think this becuase it is displaying similar behaviour as my computer did when my mobo became shot) on a different computer now and would like to figure it out as quickly as possible. Can anyone help me? I tried for all my might and I cannot remember the name of this program for all the tea in China. Thanks in advance.

Microsoft also has a memory diagnostic tool:

I think more people prefer to use MemTest86 though.

memtest86 seems to be the program that I used last time, however it doesnt seem to be working this time. Im going to try making a disk again to see if maybe I did it wrong.
