I have a Trendnet KVM that uses hot keys to switch, the key combo being:
Hit "Scroll Lock" twice
Hit "Up Arrow"

I've got it hooked up to my PC and my MBP. The problem is when the KVM is on the mac and I hit "Scroll Lock" twice to switch, the brightness on the LCD dims by two notches. "Scroll Lock" is somehow bound to dimming the LCD. I've been searching for solutions, and have tried the Logitech software to no avail. The keyboard and mouse are the wireless Logitech MX Duo from a few years ago.

Any thoughts?

i had to install some drivers to get the keys of my Logitech keyboard mapped correctly.

also, have you tried using the "fn" key in conjuction with the "scroll lock" key? maybe that'll do the trick.

generally Macs don't have scroll lock or pause/break keys, etc.

I had the same issues with my KVMs in the past.

Can you change the hotkey on your KVM to something else? On my IOGear I can change it from Scroll lock to control.

Other than that, I'd try felix88's ideas.
