Prime Day is on its way!

What is Prime Day?
More deals than Black Friday, exclusive for Prime members.
Prime Day is a one-day shopping event on July 15, 2015, with more deals than Black Friday. Prime members can shop exclusive deals from electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items and more.

You can sign up here for your 30 day free Prime trial today.

I've never tried a pre-order through them, but the free two day shipping takes three or four days out here. It's still a great deal for us, but yeah, there's quite a bit of fine print involved in shipping times when you live in the middle of nowhere.

Whenever I've pre-ordered while having prime. I get most of my things on release day.

most of my 2 day shipping stuff comes in 3 days and if i choose snail mail 3-5 day shipping to get the bonus 1$ torwards vids, it comes in 2 days. lol.

All my bonus credits are gone they must have expired, that was a bullshit promo.

I had to have had like 20$ in video. Now it's for books ors omething else? wtf

too bad they're not extending this sale to non-Prime members...sounds hot!

I love it when my orders come late, as they give me $10 every time I complain when its legit.

Almost made Prime membership free they screwed up so much, heh!

I've never had any of my orders arrive late. In fact, my city is one of the few around the country where they are doing free next day shipping with prime. It works pretty well (I've tried :D)

My city is doing same day delivery for free (Prime Now), it's pretty fucking mind blowing when I need toilet paper or something and then 3 hours later there it is..

You get entered into a drawing if you listen to anything on Amazon Prime music that day as well.

I am curious what deals will be able to be had that day. I am assuming they will be similar to their Lightning Deals.

Looks like everyone is getting in on this July nonsense. Target is having some kind of sale too.

If this ends up being like the last ho-hum black friday, markeeters are just playing with themselves.

This is for Amazon's 20th year and as far as I know not going to become an every year thing.

Looks like they are planning something for the northern socialists as well; I'd be surprised if it's more than just a fraction of the deals that will be available in the U.S. But still nice to get something.

I will let you in on a secret....you don't have to buy anything.

Sign up for Prime using the link above, get in on some deals, watch some Prime videos, listen to some free music, read some books, get free two day shipping and then cancel if you don;t like it.

I'm the opposite. I've ordered huge items (ceramic coated headers for a small block Chevy) not only is it free two day shipping, I got them them the next day. Normally when I do have issues with shipping though, it is USPS or UPS screwing things up, not Amazon.

I do, too. Sometimes. Though they normally just give me an extra month of Prime when it happens.

Amazon's Prime Day is on the 15th day, a day that is divisible by itself, 1, 3, and 5. What, they couldn't have the sale two days earlier or two days later? Or make it Prime Month? Just sayin'.

Amazon's shipping has been almost creepy fast lately. I've ordered a few things on Saturdays with Prime 2-day and had it show up on Sunday.

Never bothered to ask for a credit like that. The most interesting was when I ordered the South Park Stick of Truth Grand Wizard Edition and while amazon did charge my credit card and were going to keep the money openly admitted that they were not going to ship me the game, period. That became a fun series of calls.

I did, eventually, get the game and the Grand Wizard Cartman stood proudly atop the CRT TV I use for retro-gaming... until a cable company "technician" showed up and the grand wizard disappeared like Mitch Conner.

Last Black Friday was a good time for buying Samsung's higher-end TVs. Sure, some of this year's 4K screens are better, but I like my TVs.

End of year is always a good time to buy TV's Black Friday or any other day. They're always trying to get rid of the old stock. I like shopping for TVs in early January when the old stock is practically being given away.

Love prime! Even better is that you can share the account so multiple family members can use it to order stuff.

Students (or anyone with a .edu email address) can get 6 months free, and 50% off.

I don't know if it's still the case, but Amazon didn't allow .edu if it had "alumni" in the e-mail address (to get the student Prime promo). Which unfortunately, mine does. :(

I think that started from many years ago when businesses were promoting "Christmas in July" nonsense, which never made sense b/c it should be in June if they wanted the true midpoint of an un-Christmas day.

They go over the top with refunds sometime (not that I'm complaining). Ordered an Intel Core I7-5930K with some other parts and after contacting support about some minor issue with shipping I told them (as an aside) that it would make more sense to use the base frequency instead of the max turbo frequency in the description. They proceeded to offer me a 206$ (CAN$) discount on the CPU!

Sadly Prime is not really worth it in Canada...

Yeah, and then don't they blacklist customers for taking advantage beyond a reasonable point?

I'm sure they could/should if you keep asking for refunds for silly reasons. In my case it was the 3rd or 4th time I contacted them (almost always because of carrier damaging products) in about 100 orders.

A four per cent refund rate seems on the low side to blacklist someone. If that's true then it emphasizes how important it is to avoid returning stuff.

Yeah. Amazon is really good with shipping nowadays. In my area I get same day free shipping and sometimes Saturday/Sunday delivery.
