Powering a wifi card with wall adapter

Kind of an odd question for in here but I am looking at

to try and get a hotspot that is down the road from me. One of the others showed as two USB one for extra power. Can I use a wall adapter and power the second USB from it?

That unit is powered by USB, why not look for a wap / repeater instead ?

Got the adapter in today and it really picks up a good ways off. But It is heating up my Laptop. any thoughts on the wall adapter?

no lol, but it'll definitely put out as much radiation as a microwave
