Converted my old desk to a standing desk.

My computer is hidden in the closet with 25ft long cables. Perfectly silent!

@dsp9753, what kind of video cables are you using? PC Specs? I've debated moving my PC into the next room/server room and running cables.

CPU: 2500k
GPU: 7970 with a deepcool dracula Heatsink on it
PSU: Kingwin STR-500

I have used 25ft length hdmi, duallink dvi, and displayport all successfully. I am currently using displayport in preparation for gsync monitors that I will probably upgrade to.
I also have 25ft USB 2.0 and a 3.0 hooked up to a hub underneath my desk. A 25ft hdmi cable is connected to my receiver for sound.

Thank you dsp! I may have to borrow your ideas and tell my friends they were ideas of my own!

Are any of those cables powered?

It's both :) I got it when I was working at AMD. They were changing the posters in the hall and this is one of the ones that they were taking down. I asked if I could have it, and now here it is :D Here's the full poster:

Indeed, it would be interesting to see a new Mass Effect without Shepard in it. I'm a big fan as well. In fact, the wood mounted art above my monitors is also Mass Effect. Well, actually all of the Mass Effect characters in Dragon Age getup:

Are those encased graphics cards I see? That is pretty darn awesome! I love older GPUs and think they make for great decorations - like that boxed Voodoo 5 my eyes immediately zoned in on. :D

Yes they are... I used small lucite stands and some decoration boxes I found at the container store. they work perfect for showing off old video cards

yeah, that voodoo5 is in nice shape, box and all... one of those amazing CL deals, $40 I think and the card looks brand new. I had a 3500 boxed in that spot originally. :)

eumyang - Yep - U2913WM. Really nice monitor.

Shelves are Expedit & the boxes are called LEKMAN. Are plastic and designed to fit the shelves. Have self adhesive felt strips on the bottom so they don't scratch. Also available in transparent red. Just thinking now - maybe I could build an M-ATX rig into one of the boxes.....:).

Haha I feel ya.

Just moved from Los Angeles to Indiana less than 3 months ago to an apartment. Looking for a house to buy now. Had to bring the necessities with me, CRAMMED all this into the back of an Equinox and drove 2.1k miles.

wow.. that must have been a squeeze. Ahh movers, I am about to do the same. We're moving in 3 weeks to a new place. The good news is the "office" room is quite nice and big with a large window that looks over the back yard from the second story. Should be fun getting setup. pics to come.

but moving is such a pita. hope to try and not overdo it and try to enjoy putting the puzzle together on the other side. ;)
