I know I'm going to be looked down upon but here's my Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 and Taipan.

I had a blackwidow for a while and thought it was great. I loved the matte black, and the build quality seemed excellent. What ultimately did me in was was the mx blues.

What ultimately did me in was was the mx blues.

The only reason I never considered one was the lack of switch choice. Otherwise they might very well have gotten me for a Tournament Edition, when they finally released it.

But I want nothing to do with blue switches. I don't want or need that extra noise. I've got o-rings on my TK to quiet up the sound of me bottoming out every keystroke :p

My Keycool 84 with browns and Logitech G700 original. Amazing how much desk space I have back now since going to the 75% size. Love this setup.

Yeah I ended up getting rid of my Razer and buying a Corsair K95. The aluminum body is rather sexy, and dare I say classy. I love the feel of mx reds while gaming. Typing on reds leaves something to be desired though. I actually bought a G710+ plus while at best buy last week, and think browns might be the happy medium. Greatly prefer the typing experience and gaming on it isn't bad either.

That's a nice looking Schiit combo you have there. I can't tell what the headphones are though.

@ThinJ; love the setup.

@JonSC; whilst I'm not a fan of Razer, that setup looks great. Nice picture as well.

Right the first time. I have some HE-400's too, but the Mad Dogs get all my gaming time :)

I actually use HE-400s for everything at the moment. While I do love them (nice upgrade from DT880) I can't help but feeling that I may be missing out on something. For one thing I don't think they're very comfortable, at least for my head. I'll have to take a serious look at MrSpeakers products.

Not to sound rude, but if you are wanting to avoid extra noise maybe you would want to look into proper typing technique on a mechanical keyboard, rather than bottoming out (which in the long run isn't the best thing for your fingers/wrists).

I have blues for typing and reds for gaming. Love typing on blues. I have o-rings on my reds, maybe they would have been better suited to go on the blues. Hm...

I use proper positioning and posture. I have big hands. It just happens. My wrists, according to my doctor, are fine. I complained about a twinge a while back, had my right in particular looked at. I had just strained it lifting something heavy and had to wrest it for a while. Specialist said my wrists look to be healthier than some people half my age.

Long story short... nope.

Well, my G5 was long in the tooth. The pads on the bottom had pretty much worn out and it was sticking a lot. So, I decided to try something different. Went with this white Corsair M65. Not the best out there I know, but, I've been happy with it. Comfortable, no wonky middle button anymore, and smooth scrolling once again. The 'sniper' button I'm not as sure on, but I really need to play with it more. Oh, and I love how the wheel is tactile but doesn't click like the G5 did. Though, again, that could've been from age. Oh, and, yeah, my room has very yellow lights while outside is more blue. The mouse itself is definitely white, not a funky yellow.

+1 to the Corsair M65! I only wish it was available in black.

I finally found a full size wireless scissor switch keyboard I really like. It's a Rapoo 8900. If you tap along that black area, several media keys appear. It has a wireless mouse, but I prefer my M65.

^ Tyler, looks good. I can also recommend the Logitech K750 if you're after a decent scissor switch keyboard. Very nice to type on, very thin like the Rapoo. Plus comes with the added bonus of being wireless and solar powered. Charges off ambient light from a desk lamp, never have to worry about wires or batteries again.

Thanks! :)

I tried that K750, but whenever it got below 80% - 75% charged, it would drop its connection too often. It happened with 3 of them, so I don't think it was a random dud board.

My camera is horrible...but here is my Noppoo Choc Mini with a few custom keycaps, and my favorite mouse ever (I have tried way too many) the Zowie EC2 EVO (kinda wish I had the EC1 however due to size)

NOTE: I will never own a full sized keyboard again. This setup is so much more comfortable for gaming.

I guess that's fine for you then.

Just to explain where I'm coming from: I am not saying you are one of those people, but —clicky switches aside— I often read/hear people either inquire (ex: Are MX Browns louder than MX Reds?) or complain about the noise of mechanical keyboards when the problem is not the keyboard, but the use of improper technique. Given one is using a decent keyboard with proper typing technique; i.e. only depressing the keys to the actuation point, a mechanical keyboard should not make that much more noise than a regular keyboard.

Hope I did not come off as attacking you or anything.

Just got the new steelseries rival, paired with my max keyboard with custom leds and cherry reds it's an awesome setup!

Love dem cherry blues for typing at work! Razer orichi pairs nicely, especially when taking laptop on the road!

Agreed completely. Can't imagine myself ever going back to normal size/TKL either after getting a 75% keyboard. All the buttons you need like Pg Up/Pg Dn, plus arrow keys and F keys. In a very compact package freeing up massive amounts of desk space.

I finally found an extended cloth pad like the Razer Goliathus that's just black; none of that god awful green splattered all over it. Perixx DX-2000. It has a better rubber base than the Goliathus, too. Just $17 at Newegg.

Its the limited white Sanctuary dyesub PBT set. There were only like 50 sets made, they were originally obtainable only if you bought a specific Korean custom keyboard.
Interesting. It looks nice : )

How is the actual surface?

I ended up getting the Corsair MM200 Extended to replace my Goliathus because I need an extended format. The glide provides a very nice controlled friction although the lack of anti-fray stitching might be problematic for some people. I still think the Zowie GT-F Speed is the best mouse pad out there in terms of quality and glide though... I would buy one in a heartbeat if they brought out an extended version.

The surface is more of a control glide than a speed glide, if that makes sense. I like it better than the glide on my X-Trac pad. This Perrix pad fees very well put together. The edge stitching is tight and should provide good protection against fraying.

BEHOLD! Original G5 and a 15$ keyboard. After spilling a coke in my last 15$ keyboard I don't think I could stomach buying pretty much anything in this thread...
Also, I want to get a new mouse but this G5 refuses to die.
