Yep - hopefully done the PhD in another 18 months or so (I focus focus on telecommunications, surveillance/privacy, and regulatory regimes in the UK, Canada, and US).

Absolutely rely on it. I suffered extreme pains in my right arm from using the mouse so much, and since switching (for past 6 months or so) pains have vanished. Means that I can't game or anything, but for daily computing the trackpad is awesome.

Here is my 20121 imac 21.5. I have had it for about 7 weeks and really like it. I haven't had a mac since way back when I had an ibook g3.

Ever since I got diagnosed with the Cauda Equina Syndrome, I cannot walk up the stairs, yet. My gaming room is upstairs, and I was in need of a (temporary) replacement. So, I asked myself... Why not go mac?

I know it's about a month late, but where is your desk from? I really like it and I am shopping around for a new desk for my mac and I have yet to find one I really like. (well, now I have since I like yours lol)
 
Here I am. Display in the middle here is attached to my i7 PC. On the left is my brand new 2011 macbook air 13", and on the right is my macbook pro mid2010.

I am loving the Air I am gonna sell the MBP and part out my PC and use it exclusively. First I am going to test how well it runs all the programs I need.

Sorry for the photo I used my phone and the window light was blinding.

I got it from Staples in the UK back in 2009. Unfortunately that's pretty much all I can remember, I'm not sure if they ever sold them in the US, and if they did whether they've been discountinued or not.

The one on the left is a Late-09 Quad-core i7 2.8GHz that is running in Target Display Mode most of the time. I use it as a secondary display for my new 3.4Ghz i7. I just got the new 3.4GHz as an upgrade and when I ran the numbers it wasn't worth selling. I want a second 27" ACD so I'm looking at $950 for one of those. Offers on this one are around $1400 or so..which means for $450 I get a nice system that I can use as a headless server or a backup in case my main iMac fails (the left one was replaced one and motherboard replaced once so it happens). I can't buy a new 27" ACD + Mac Mini with similar specs for close to that.
 
Thanks on the DK..considering getting rid of it to get the space back. The pic is a Marilyn Monroe print. I have a couple hanging in my office.
