Today at work I was downloading demos at 8MB per second from Nvidia's website...120MB demos where downloading in like 15-20 seconds...I've never seen it that high before...I usually get about 4MB per second. I work at the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City....we have fat pipes here ;)

I get 600Kb per second now at home on TimeWarner which is pretty nice, but nowhere near as nice as 8MB per second at work! :D

i got 3.4 MB of a ftp about a year ago, on cox so pipes not too big
home network i average between 8 and 10 MB

Back when I first got my cable modem both up and downstream were uncapped. I remember I downloaded the first x86 release of Darwin from Apple at 1.1 - 1.2Mb/s (megabyte not bit). Not bad for a $45/month cable modem. My fastest now is about 500-550Kb/s.

Dude you need to get me a job at the fed. I shadowed there for a day a few years back and it was pretty cool. Anyway, if we're talking internet, then I suppose my fastest transfer speed is about 600KB/s. I don't know when roadrunner upped the speed but I am sure enjoying it. I can do 10-11MB/s downloading from sites on my school's network, but that doesn't really count. Although my school has a 40 megabit internet connection(we're a fairly small school) I usually don't hit higher than a couple hundred KB/s.

I can get 9-10 MB (yes MB ) at work on a regular basis. Bonus for working for an ISP/ASP is big ass pipes

On normal days at home I get 350kb/sec, on really good days I'll get about 1115kb/sec and then there's in-betweens, of course.

At home I average around 450-500KB/s on Commiecast

At work, I average around 160-170. stupid SDSL
