which adapter would I have to buy to plug into the charging port of my mobile phone to go to my laptop's ethernet port

I know you can buy ethernet port adapters but it's to get internet to my mobile. I want to do the reverse

thether data from mobile to laptop ethernet port

help

You could also buy a USB WiFi adapter if you have a spare USB port. You can find them for under $10.

I second the USB method.

You could try a mirco usb/c USB OTG cable and use a USB ethernet adapter.

Make sure your phone fully supports what you want to do. I have an old Moto G5S Plus without a sim card. I wanted to use it to tether wifi data to a desktop that didn't have a wifi card and was in the wrong room for a wired connection. Turns out the phone will share mobile data over USB but not wifi. (Maybe it would have if I had put in a custom ROM but in my case it wasn't worth the effort.)

usb is the fastest setup, unless thats broke as well. My devices tend to heat up with tethering but, they work fine and much stabler connection
