My son had a motherboard die. Is it possible to get new Z97 motherboard that is overclockable?
He has a overclockable I5-4690K CPU.

Thanks for any advice

New, unlikely. Do you live near a microcenter? If so, I’d bet they have an open box or close to new one you can get and get a replacement warranty on. (If warranty is why you were looking for new)

If new / unopened ones were available I expect the cost would be $600+ from third party sellers on eBay, Amazon or newegg..

I'm pretty sure I have a brand new MSI ATX PC Mate motherboard. I didn't need it and never returned it. I may have opened the anti-static bag but it's never had a CPU or RAM installed. If interested, I'll take what it cost me ($115.00) plus shipping.

I had a couple of systems based on that mobo and I still have one one running at my workbench.
4690K @4.5Ghz.
