Possible to get iPad into DFU more without using power/sleep button

I have an original iPad running 5.0.1 The ipad was dropped and the sleep/wake button no longer works. I would like to jailbreak it but can't find a recent guide on how to do so without the sleep/power button. Anybody here know of a way?

IMO, worth getting it fixed. Likely just the power switch/cable which is pretty cheap.

The switch works it's the top corner that hit and I guess is pressing the power button down all the time. If I apply upwards pressure where it's pushed in and let go the slide to power off appears. I just want to jailbreak it and leave it alone after that lol I gave my wife an ipad 2 for xmas and inherited the old one which I don't feel like spending money on.
