Portable Hard Drive what kind and which one?

Only has to be 2 TB or larger.

Is a 2 cord portable hard drive faster than a one cord one? Basically meaning one that needs to be plugged into a outlet.

Do any portable hard drives have 5 year warranty ?

For that price, the little USB powered ones from Western Digital Passports are pretty good. These use a 2.5" drive so will be slower than a 3.5" drive based portable. But with that price range you probably won't get a brand new 3.5" drive. It won't be in 2TB either, probably 4TB minimum now-a-days.

The "two cord" drives are usually faster because the drives spin faster. But if you are carrying them around, they are more of a hassle. The Passport drives are just fine if you are looking to store media on them.

The Samsung T5 and T7 are smoking awesome, but outside of that price range.
