Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew of a program that would monitor bandwidth speeds/amount transferred by port. I've been getting some rather odd bandwidth amounts after going to sleep at night without anything queued to download. Ie. Last night I managed to download 2.5gb of god knows what while I was sleeping  I have no idea what was downloaded nor what ports were in use. Thanks.

you can use netstat -an to look at current connections by port and ip (but ignore the unix sockets, as they are just part of X.

ntop will show you bandwith usage by user/port/hostnames/etc.
