Something tells me there will be a lot of people that would rather settle with the studio than be caught dead in open court accused of pirating Batman XXX.

"F*** 'em all?" I'm not sure if I should take that literally or figuratively?

I watched the trailer of that movie, Lexi Belle, Alexis Texas, Tori Black, seems they went all out on the cast. I don't get why they are so sue happy these days, rememer the days of VHS. Anyone remember 1000's of people getting sued back then for making copies of friends movies? It seems everyone just wants to sue everyone else these days.

Yeah, I mean, why would they want to sue people for copying their work?

    To put it quite bluntly:

Porn wouldn't fucking be where it is today without people pirating it, plain and simple 'cause 99.5% of it is useless shit that's not worth actually putting on film or even video.

    HATERS GONNA HATE.

porn industry is getting assaulted on multiple fronts. piracy is one issue, another for example is amateur video that exists on tons of sites, not to mention just all types of free content.

Thing is those are two different things. You make a copy of a movie (VHS or DVD) for a friend, you can only give out so many of those. online you take that digital copy and send it to hundreds or more people. so where as before you only cost them 1 possible customer you are now costing them hundreds.

Also, it is traceable nowadays. If they could have had some method of tapping into peoples' VCRs and seeing who made a bunch of copies back then, they would have. It is the technology that has changed, not the propensity to sue.

Studios/execs don't realize that most people pirate porn, simply because they can, and most everyone wouldn't pay for what they download anyways. If anything porn studios should be grateful for the free advertising!

they are going after everybody who downloaded "batman xxx" and they only have 7000+ people on their list? that is pretty funny....i bet it is closer to like 700,000+ people who downloaded it.

i just don't get the recent string of parody xxx features lately---they all are pretty horrible!

I think this is very true. Porn is different than conventional movies, because people are much more likely to pirate porn and much less likely to pay for porn, versus actual movies. On the flip side though, most porn is shit, and some of the better stuff I've seen recently has been free, so, perhaps the porn industry is going the same way as the MPAA.

Actually the amount of money spent on porn might be just the right amount to end world hunger.

2: No, the directors, the "artists" (except for the handful that own their own publishing company), the stage hands, even the guy who wipes everything down with lysol wipes, all get paid the exact same amount if the porno sells 100 copy's as they do if the movie sells 100,000 copy's. The only party's who are being "hurt" are the studios and the publishing company's the majority of whom are owned by such larger studios as fox and universal ( whom we all know are hurting and barely making any money  ) and most will continue to be funded as long as their profitable which given porn is an industry worth billions a year will be for while to come.

3: Theft is a part of doing business, it's budgeted for in your overhead costs, you are not likely to have theft rampant enough to justify spending millions on lawsuits and lawyers, nor is it going to stop those who really want to steal your product, grand standing and going after a handful of dumb criminals simply allows the smart ones to go about their business freely without worry!

actually you don't feed the people, they all die off, no more people are hungry. seems to me like no money is needed to solve world hunger. or you could speed up the death process some in which case it might take a little bit of money.

this is a common misconception that is also affecting the gaming industry. it all has to do with supply and demand. the more money the industry makes the more the movies they can make. The more movies they make the greater the employment opportunities for all the people you mention. If revenue goes down then the solution for them is to drop smaller titles and release only a few films using the more popular actresses. less movies being made = more unemployment. look at how the video game industry is cutting dev groups left and right for similar examples. not saying I am agreeing with their tactics, just there is more to the subject.

You are right and this is why they are going after people, they know they will get money out of people without taking them to court.

This is true but not related to my argument, I was pointing out that he is saying that "employees" are being hurt because their employers are making slightly less money and as a result they too are making less money. Also um. . . the pornography industry for the majority of people the job you have is the job you stay in, are you suggesting if the guy who wipes down the sets if he does a real good job he could be a fluffer ?

    Sorry no.

I really like your idea on how to solve world hunger. It is similar to my idea on pan handlers: I don't give them any money, it keeps them from crawling away and dieing.

    *

I find it hard to care about this article. While most of me thinks the studios should shove off, how could I really support someone who needs to see boobies so badly that they must go online and download it?

I don't get porn. What's the point? It's not that hard to see boobies in person.
