First there was VHS. Next came adult video channels on cable. Now they have a set-top box exclusively for porn. What will they think of next? Don’t answer that.

Miami-based entrepreneur Estefano Isaias is using the adult expo to debut Fyre, which he is billing as the first set-top box to deliver DVD-quality adult movies on demand to home televisions. The Fyre simply has to be plugged into an Ethernet port in a broadband connection. Another plug goes into the TV, and voila.

The subscription can be up to 100 bucks a month? Damn. Guess it is only the price of a few pay sites but that still seems like a lot. I mean I know a lot of people that pay less for cable.

I heard about this on the radio driving into work this morning, guess it may be a safer, easier, less noticeable way to have your fix, if you need that stuff.

... less noticeable? I think the porn box on your TV might be a little bit telling.

I do not know what the "box" looks like, but if it is just a simple black box that receives porn then no one will unless they ask about it. Now if it has pictures, ads, etc. all over it then it might be something you hide in a back corner where it is not seen, just depends on what it looks like.

Wow.. just what the world needs.

I thought they already had one of these, and called it "Satelite TV"

less noticeable than what? Piles of magizines laying around?

If you watch it on your sat or cable connection nobody would know. If you watch it online nobody would know. You can have a secret stash of movies or mags. All of these can be done pretty secretly without anyone knowing about it, somebody could drop by and they would never know a thing. However, like Nemesis999 said, a set top box would be pretty telling. Sure if nobody ever asked you what the box was, or switched to the wrong device when trying to switch between all that you migth have hooked up to the tv then nobody would know. While I might be wrong, i'd assume that most people would ask whats the new device you have. Guess you could hide it behind the tv or something were nobody seen it. But still, it has the most chance of being noticed out of any other means of getting porn.

I think this guy hasn't heard of "torrents". Paying for porn?

Know what the real issue is? It's that this would even be news if the whole idea of sex wasn't still unnecessarily seen as "taboo" in a world that's supposed to be more "open-minded". WTF?

I'm a good looking guy with a good looking wife, as we're both into porn. It's sex, so fucking what. We have people over and there's porn on the PC, fuck it, it's their hang-up, not ours.

I personally know Belladonna (an extremely well-known porn star) and have spoken with her and her husband numerous times, and my wife a few times as well, and like us, they're just sexually open, open-minded people with great attitudes who've been running their own business for a long time now and doing well.

So where anything involving porn is concerned, here's how it should be: who gives a fuck? People shouldn't even give it a second look, just like if you saw anything else... a tree, an airplane... why is this still an issue amongst the friggin' talking monkeys in this world? It's sex, people. Nothing wrong with it. Get a fucking helmet --directed at those who make it an issue out of their bible-bashing, sheep mentality, especially-- because it's modern religion that's pushed the "taboo" of sex harder and harder over the centuries as "the original sin". That's why this is still an issue, as it's ingrained in everyone, even those who aren't religious, because it's a cancer that's metastasized in our society so deeply, it effects more things than you've probably stopped to take the time to notice.

So, good for whom ever wants a little black box on their TV. I personally prefer DVDs and the net, but more power to 'em.

P.S.
Anything that's a "little black box" always looks fucking suspicious, lol... so there's really no way that someone who sees it isn't going to wonder about what it's used for, and sex will surely come to mind.

I have no problems with pron, would be weird if other's new that I looked at it though.:D
So, what you are saying is that you would not mind if one day your wife asked for a 3some or 4some? JW

It is a pretty cool idea that if went down in price could prove useful.

Interesting concept, but I don't see this being successful. The "on-demand" part is welcome, but that sort of thing exists already (intarweb), and it's pretty damn easy and cost-effective just to stream media from one's PC to one's TV if one's TV isn't already attached to a PC.

The net's already chock full of all sorts of interesting choice and variety. I doubt this subscription-based black box could hope to match 1/10th of what the net can offer already.

I dont know about this. A couple DVD's and mags i can easily hide under my bed but a set top box is bound to the TV. But at $10 a month, its cheaper than wow and more enjoyable :D

Belladonna can stick a louieville slugger in her pooper and wave it around :O

Thats all I have to say about that.

And about the box, I want one to hax0rzed it. It is supposed to be built on linux, and it looks sweet.

LOL if sex were not taboo, it could not be used to sell shit

Ever heard of a thing called class? There is a difference in being close minded and having some class.

Instead of "Grab your dick and double-click." its going to be "Grab your remote and start to choke."

I think this is what it's 'suppose' to look like?

um.... Yah, unless your guest are blind. Everyone is going to want to know what the bright red box, with a black top and red flame of it is. That box screams LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME. All that is missing is a small neon striper sign or XXX sign on the front flashing.

The box doesn't come with the red flame sticker on it.

And it looks just like any other cable set top box I've seen since 1994.

Oh, and its all black. The red front is just red light bouncing off the front.
