For those that are interested in getting an RTX.

This poll is not to vote on what you think of RTX, but simply to understand interest and buying pattern.

    Thanks

Not out anything on a pre-order from nvidia.com. Might as well. If they suck, I'll just cancel.

Beats waiting 6 months on inventory if it turns out they're alright.

    Interesting!

I did not know you could just cancel the order!

But wait... [H] will only get a card or release day... So do you know how long you have for canceling an pre-order?

    When do you get charged?

So probably close to the 20th they'll charge credit cards, I assume. You can cancel any time up to that point. Or just return it if they've already shipped it to you.

Last time I ordered from NVidia.com and had a ship date 3+wks in the future, they took my money right away.

Unless they can magically use the Tensors to power missing features, the 2080 Ti will be only 20% faster than the 1080 Ti in existing games, and the 2080 til be 20% slower. That's hardly a good value for your money if you're not looking to play RT games on day-one.

We have the GeForce 3 upon us again, but at least this time you won't have to wait two years for game developers to learn how to use it.

I have a regular 1080 Strix from Asus. On top of the price, I would need to either invest in another 200 dollar displayport to DVI-D connector or buy a new monitor to maintain nSurround. It would have to be a super compelling reason for me to jump in early. I'm pretty content with the 1080 at the moment.

I preordered before the stream was over. Of the same opinion that I can just cancel.
If the card is already out, then they charge you right away regardless of backorder status as far as I know. For preorders they don't charge until it is ready to ship.
I have not seen my credit card charged yet, either.

Pre-ordered the moment the cards became available. There is no risk since I can cancel at any time over the next month as long as its before launch. Even if the embargo lifts on launch date for reviews I'm sure we'll have plenty of leaks before hand (as always) that I'll use to decide.

Still going to use my Titan XP till the reviews come out. Even then, i may wait and see if they have another Titan-Type GPU in the pipeline before i buy another one. No real hurry here. :)

I do have a feeling a Titan will be out a month or 2 after the 2080Ti. But being uncertain of the cost I won't be waiting for it unless the 2080Ti has less than (my) expected performance gains over the X.

    Pre-ordered.

I have a month to decide if I let the order go through, and then I have another month to return it if I don't like it.

Pre-Ordered. Tom Petersen yesterday said reviews should be coming in the next few weeks, so either way we will probably see them before release date.

They will be neutral most likely if that NDA ment anything. Atleast we will see performance numbers, not necessarily opinions.

I'll wait till prices come down to MSRP of 1080ti before I condone that price.

Yeah, yeah it's PC gaming and it's a luxury but there are far more hobbies to throw $1200 at for a single piece of hardware that just last year was half the price.
Pre-odering is just telling them the price is good.

I pre-ordered two 2080 Tis and the NVLink.

I'm really hype on the ray tracing stuff and also hope that it will finally be enough power to run 7680 x 1440 3D Vision Surround.

Triple screen was awesome (software issues aside) but it was really a struggle at that resolution and in 3D. If the NVLink actually improves SLI, and the 2080 Ti is really 50% better, this might actually work.

Right, there is some dreaming there, but I think Nvidia is going to come through.

There is no way they would play it like this with the price and secrecy unless they can deliver. It's going to be great.

If I were in the market for a video card, I would wait for the [H] review before deciding whether to go RTX or stay in the Pascal generation (i.e. upgrading my 1070 to a 1080 Ti or a Titan Xp).

Fortunately for me, I'm not in the market so I can only SMH over the prices and hope that by the time I am back in the video card market RTG has removed the thumbs from their asses and brought to us a competitive landscape.

If that drops then for $1,299, I'm in.

I never pre order, you don't know if the product your ordering is going to be a dud or not, then you wasted your money.

Always wait for reviews first before deciding. Personally I'm not going to buy a RTX, yet because I don't have the need to, I can afford it, but I'm not a huge fan of spending more than $1K for a fancy piece of hardware. which I'm not going to use most of the time.

It's hilarious that people are pre-ordering without even seeing reviews. This is exactly what Nvidia wanted becaause in reality the performance increase is probably 15-20% and therefore Nvidia couldn't justify the price. They are counting on the marking gimmick of Ray Tracing. Watch a lot of people cancel their pre-orders once reviews hit. 2080 / 2070 will probably be about the same performance as 1080 / 1080ti but cost way more therefore you're paying for Ray Tracing only which will have limited usage this early on and the performance hit is probaly too much for people to use anyway.

People, just stick with 1080 / ti until next refresh. This is going to be a $1000-$1200 flop of cards and Nvidia's greedy cash grab on newer tech which is way too early.

Watch all these suckers pay $800-$1000 for 1080ti performance! LOL

Why do you assume all of us already have a 1080 ti? Personally I see it as I bought a titan X (Pascal) ~2 years ago, and I have been biting at the bit for an upgrade. You know it will be better than the Titan Xp, let alone the 1080 ti. Likely not >30% better, but still this seems like a good bet considering the next titan X? will likely be another 600$ and released when?

The point is assumed 20% is not worth the price bump they are charging. If not for Ray Tracking the 2080ti would have been $700 or 800 most likely. They are greedy bastards and cash grabbing based on Ray Tracing gimmick first to consumer market. So you''d pay an extra $500 over 1080ti for a measly 20%?

This is the same type of pricing scheme that Asus / Acer is doing with their 4k / 144hz monitors and charging $2000. Why? because they are first to market and you know what, the 144hz is a gimmick since you have to sacrifice chroma color which is BS. No way is the 144hz doubling or trippling the cost of 4k / 60hz monitors.

Nvidia is doing the same with Ray Tracing. Will have limited usage, probably has huge performance hit (no way you're running that at 4k) and by the time it's widely adopted, something newer and way faster will be available.

I may be laughing when reviews come out and it's a flop

All I'm waiting for are 4K benchmarks. No ray-tracing nonsense or whatever. If they can do high FPS at 4K+ ultra, I'll pull the trigger.

I can understand the people that use ray-tracing for work (that's a thing right?), pulling the trigger, given that the new cards are still cheaper than the pro quadro or Titan V but for the average consumers / gamers like myself ... I can wait for numbers before dropping that not insignificant amount of change.

I think you forget... Everything that is the "first of its kind" is always has a huge mark up. Just think of it this way. Would you be willing to buy a Ti Card for 300 bucks more knowing that you will be able to enjoy it for 1 year extra before it would have been released? AMD/Intel will at best be able to match this in 2020 (if they are lucky, and not even looking at ray tracing). As for when Nvidia decides to overshadow the Ti with another ti... who knows?

And folks are kidding themselves if they think the price will drop any time soon.

    I will definitely wait.
It's way too expensive to preorder without knowing its performance. If it's like Titan V then it's about 30% faster than 1080Ti, which is not worth the money as I already have 1080Ti. If it's 50% faster, I'll consider it. But I'm leaning towards just waiting for the next gen, 7nm.

That is going to be a long wait but if I had a 1080Ti I would make the same call till I saw reviews. If we are lucky 2020 will be a fun year. (Just hope they take Intel/AMD serious and do more than just a die shrink + memory upgrade.)

I got a hard on when Jenson said the leaks we good, except the benchmarks were wrong.

But when it was clear that he had new benchmarks ONLY, then I lost my stuffy. The might actually been some shrinkage,

I have the feeling that if there is a RTX Titan it's going to be $2k or more. That is more than I'm willing to spend. No way they drop the price so soon on a 775 mm² chip.
