Opty 165... installed the drivers on my initial build then read on here that they were potentially 'bad' for overclockers... so I never reinstalled them when I rebuilt.

I do but I don't overclock either. I value quiet.

754 A64 3000+
939 A64 3200+
754 A64 3400+

I will use it on a Opteron 170 too when I get it next week.

used 3800
3200
3000
146
165

all cool and quiet. why not use it? i like to save as much money as possible. even if its like a few bucks overclocked everything fine too.

I have it on my FX-60 rig with an Asus A8N-E

Right now it's idling at 30c at 1.2 GHz with the stock fan... nice numbers :D

939 3200+- I dont use it becaues it will only run about 2 degrees lower with it enabled.

I uhh, hope that's sarcasm

I don't use Cool'n'Quiet, though, just never seemed appealing to me.

4600+ No, I can't hear my cpu cooler anyway. I do use the automatic case fan control on my mobo, though.

When i had my emachine m6811 laptop, i used it all the time. In my main rig in sig, it is disabled. meh.

Always had it on with my 3700 and currently have it enabled on my 4800 :)

on my x2 3800 I don't use it but on my notebook (mobile sempron 3000+) I use it

No -- Opty 175.. I run folding@home, so it would never kick in anyways..

I use cpufreqd under linux, and have it set to bring my cores down to minimum clockspeed (1GHz) when the load is under 10%, and bring the cores up to max (1.8GHz) the rest of the time. Works well for my usage patterns. See sig for box description.

sure, my opty 165 runs @ 2.4 when folding and 1.3 when not

doesn't affect stability at all

last 3 processors (including current) are AMDs. All overclocked, no C-n-Q for any

170 (3.0 GHz, more soon I hope)
148 (2.9 GHz)
3200+ (2.5 GHz)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but CnQ only causes problems with OC's if you're adding volts right? If you've only raised the FSB you should be ok?

CnQ work with Opterons the same way it does wqith A64's?

Living computer yes 3200+ 939 sempron, 3200+ 754 girlfriends laptop no, mine x2 3800+ 939 no. I guess that counts as a sometimes.

754
3400+ overclocked 212MhZ
Nope.

Also, WTF is up with the 1.2ghz fx-60? Shouldnt that be 2.4 or 2.6???

More than likely that's what CnQ does... he does say he uses it.

My fan on the cooler is temp-sensing anyways...so no need

and my mobo doesnt support it
