This stupid crap is happening so often that it almost isn't newsworthy anymore. Well, except when you plow into a police car...and it's all caught on the police officer's body camera.

So OFTEN?
How many accidents a day occur from people texting or doing anything on the phone?
Do you have statistics to back that up?
Or are you just posting crap about Pokemon? Between your stupid laser pointer posts and these, man, can't you find any real news?
Pokemon Go is popular, so it's no brainer why Steve posts about it. Stop being a cry baby. It took you more time to post than it would have if you just went to one of the dozens of other Tech/News sites to get "real news".
Bite me. This was already posted in the forum by someone else as a joke and was funny.
Posting it as a "this shit has to stop" article is bullshit.
It is just pig-piling on the Pokemon hysteria like a fucking lemming. A cheap shot. Low hanging fruit.
If people want to bitch about Pokemon that is their choice and I can bitch that it is fucking stupid. How about all the people getting exercise and meeting people and having a great time? How about the *news* that a decent mobile game has actually changed so much in such a short time?
There is alot of good in the game and reporting only the bad incidents is one sided and biased.
You are right though, it is a NO BRAINER. No thought required to pick these articles for further agitating anti-pokemon hysteria.
Getting worse than Glen-Fucking-Beck

I still can't understand why grown ass adults invest so much energy into this...

Yes.Are you asking for an explanation, or getting on the "I'm too good for this" bandwagon?
I think there's an underlying problem of people not being able to control themselves.Demonstrated STUPIDITY - IS - news when it is gaming related - so yeah - you might see that here.
People like this need mobile phone lockouts when they get behind the wheel because they lack the ability self regulate their wishes.
Why should they bother to curb how people play the game? What's wrong with people playing it from a passenger/back seat?I don't get it. Your phone knows if you are moving fast. The app is already using GPS data. The shit should automatically turn off over 13mph.

i think the problem with this is that everyone is talking about pokemon GO being a distraction while driving. While it is a distraction, ppl seem to ignore the fact that txting while on the phone is the exact same thing..
It doesn't stop with speed. I was driving 55mph while my daughter was catching pokemon. I still think anything but voice calls should be disabled in a moving car.
No, you shouldn't be able to use a GPS, as far as trying to type in an address at least, while driving. So many distracted douchebags taking their eyes off the road for far too long.Yeah, and you shouldn't be able to use a GPS

Yeah, and you shouldn't be able to use a GPS or change a radio station or scratch your ass or spill your coffee while driving.
Oh, and don't forget that science has PROVEN that hands free driving is JUST AS DANGEROUS as just talking on a cell phone.
Hands-free cellphones make driving more dangerous, not less - The Boston Globe
Doing anything other then driving in your car is a distraction and can be dangerous.
I think quite a few states have started the texting ban laws and such that are now here in NY. But you see way to many people trying to do it still. I can always tell when I see a car start drifting between lanes or they speed up/slow down a lot. You go past them and all you see is them looking down, up, down, up, down, as they try and drive and text.

Probably just stupidity of the moment, rather than honesty. Chick that rearended me when I asked WTF because we were at a complete standstill at a light, admitted that she mistook her brake for the gas peddle when she started drifting (distracted by cellphone), so instead of panicking and hitting the brake, she slammed on the gas. But she quickly changed her tune when the police arrived, even though there were witnesses to her admission of guilt. At least he was honest about it and did not try to hide it.

And its not the talking on the cellphone that is dangerous, so that clickbait makes no sense. The primary danger is when people are looking at their phone screen for more than a microsecond glance, such as when scrolling through phone contacts, typing in a phone number, or worse typing up a text reply.
