Isn't a recertified card just an RMA return that worked on their test bench and they returned back to service? It's a hell of a deal for a 480 though.

I'm a fan of refurbs... but $420 isn't much better than NEW cards after mail-in-rebate.

I'd also say go with ASUS, MSI, EVGA, or Galaxy over PNY.

ya i wasn't going to pull the trigger just to save $20....so I picked up a EVGA 470 instead. $319 wasn't a bad deal.

I pickup a re certified PNY GTX470 , newegg sale . It has a small sticker on the back stating it was refurbished. I have had no problems using a PNY card . My current system has a GTX260 from them that is 2 years old , without issue .

for me, any top level price of single display card is not reasonable for its price

460 sli performs better and cheaper

although the benchies may be on your side, I'd much rather have a one-card rig than an SLI or CF setup. Less stuff to go wrong, no scaling issues, etc. But now we're getting into another discussion entirely ;)
