I'm not too sure where this goes, but here it is.

I'm building a PC for my guitar teacher. So far, it's complete and I installed a 500GB SATA drive. I installed Windows and want it to be my personal drive.

Well I need to get the files off of the 2 IDE drives he pulled from his computer. Problem is, when I connect them, upon startup windows tries to boot from them each time, which results in a BSOD and the computer to restart. I've been messing around in the BIOS but have had no luck, any help? Thanks!

The motherboard I'm using is an Abit nf-m2 nView.

Thanks alot!! :)

Make sure the IDE drives have the jumper on the back set to either "Slave" or "Cable Select". They are probably set to master, which is why the computer is trying to boot from them.

Also check your BIOS for boot order. You may be able to set the BIOS to boot off the SATA drives before the IDE drives.
