Please help, laptop cd-rom, I'm freakin out

My girlfriend's dell 600m cd-rom drive wouldn't close so i took it out. I now have NO IDEA how to get it back in. I went on ebay and bought a new one, hoping it would just go right back in.

AM I MISSING A PART??? I'm looking around and don't see anything. The cd-rom connector is on one side - the plastic hole on the other.

only to figure out the thing you're looking at in the laptop is actually part of the drive... doh
 
Which CD drive is the new one? One is definitely missing a part. If the one on top is the old one, then look for the missing peice inside the laptop, maybe still attached to the socket?

If the new one is the top one, then I believe you just bought a broken CD drive.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see you got it
 
Yeah thanks for the response... luckily i beat you by 30 seconds or i'd be out 5 bucks

=))))))))) boy was that frustrating.
