Damn you internet. Damn you to hell!

Mr. Hefner, now 89, but still listed as editor in chief, agreed. As part of a redesign that will be unveiled next March, the print edition of Playboy will still feature women in provocative poses. But they will no longer be fully nude.

Guessing ol' Hefner believes his customers are really just reading the articles, or he wants to tank the company...

Well it was nice knowing you all, Hell must have frozen over and the zombies are on the way. What are little boys going to steal from older brothers/dads now? Laptops and tablets are more expensive to replace lol. Really there were articles? Just can't seem to remember them

never understood playboy... penthouse was more my style... but who buys magazines any more?

I'm going to assume they are going for the Maxim, Vibe, Men's Health crowd now? The younger hipper crowd?

Problem is I think Playboy, I think old fogey.

There are tons of similar magazines that don't. No clue how successful any of them are, but there is noo shortage of them. PB went so overboard with airbrushing and photoshop that the "photos" were borderline illustrations.

The Viagra must not be doing it for Hef anymore.

So, because he can no longer have fun, neither can we.

Playboy was the classier version of porn. It didn't have the gaping holes, the meat curtains, the other stuff. It was just cute naked women.

Now, it's just an old people Maxim. Decent articles, but not for anyone <25 years old...

who really looked at playboy for porn?

It's like super weak softcore porn. Never owned any porn mags myself, internet porn worked well enough, even back then. But having seen pb and hustler, I'd never get pb even if I had the extra cash for it.

PB just looked so fake to me it was dumb. Yea and also, who is buying physical magazines still? Gotta ask for those behind the counter still?

That... makes no sense. You can find anything on the internet for free, so this is lame reasoning.

I agree that the photo editing is out of control. It's not as bad as it was in the early '00s. If anything is more of a turn off to me it's skin that looks plastic and artificially white eyes and teeth. Lately I was more of a fan of their Cybergirl stuff where they never went that far with the post-process editing.

Playboy's decent into irrelevancy is now proceeding at Warp 6... and accelerating.

Please....

Yes playboy was a stop in my road to early puberty, but it was a short stop and one which was only used if there wasn't another more "detailed" option available.

On the road to man hood, I started to read playboy vs just fap to the 2 spreads. It actually did have decent articles from style to music and politics with a hot naken chick to boot. Most of which at that time were unattainable, since they style section assumed you had a hefner budget.

Then the internet came along and I grew older not giving 2 shits about style outside of what I just like.

I kind of thought maybe they would transition into classier, softcore internet porn with better looking girls than you typically see in porn. But no nudity in the magazine is pretty much the nail in the coffin.

Acutally, they already did this on their web site and traffic quadrupled.

From the NY Times article:

"In August of last year, its website dispensed with nudity. As a result, Playboy executives said, the average age of its reader dropped from 47 to just over 30, and its web traffic jumped to about 16 million from about four million unique users per month."

Guy got all his, now he's turned it off. What a dick.

Playboy's nudity was more artsy and classy compared to the graphic nudity of porn websites etc...even celebrities posed nude for them...eliminating nudity seems like a silly move...is Penthouse magazine still around?

Yes and was a go to staple for some time. At least Hustler wont let me down.

Eh, I don't even mind. Playboy's nudes have been so overly tweaked and photoshopped that the women looked like cartoons. And they are right, high quality nudes are free and just a click away.

I may be cynical but I bet this is preemptive to protect ole Hef from getting the Cosby treatment.

The only time I've bought playboy was the special editions that were nothing but drawings and renders of women from video games....

I'm going to miss those

and too many of the women featured these last few years have been silicone filled.

where the fuck are the naturals...

The sad part is that my old aging dad will probably continue to subscribe.

In the natural edition they publish every year. I like silicone. Who wants to pay to look at some natural hag?

It's official. The planet has gone PC crazy.

Heff agreed with this decision. It has nothing to do with political correctness. It is about business. In the US the magazine portion of their business LOSES 3 million a year. Hardly anyone is willing to buy a paper magazine anymore to see naked women.

You can open you your web browser, type one word and hit enter and see endless nude pictures. For free. They are trying to adapt BEFORE they die and they are going classier rather than raunchier, both to save their image AND because there is also no limit to free hardcore pornography either, so may as well go classy instead of harder.

They are focusing on city guys who like stupid shit like what vodka to buy and some interview with some fancy boy a geek wouldn't care about. It still won't matter because magazines are dead, but they have to try I guess.

They can be open to a larger market now that they have no nudity.

this is bullshit... just put a fucking fork in the mag... Not a dick (fucking perverts)
