Pillarboxed YouTube videos

I have a TCL 40" 1080p TV set as my secondary monitor. When I watch YouTube videos that don't have a max resolution of 1080p (360p, 480p, and 720p), the player gets pillarboxed when I enter full screen mode. I suspect that this is due to my main monitor having a different aspect ratio. It's an old-ish Dell 2001FP @ 1600 x 1200. Is there a way to force the flash player to do a proper full screen for lower-res videos?

1600x1200 isn't the same aspect ratio as 1920x1080, so no, there's no way unless you either crop the video or stretch it, neither of which you can do on YouTube.

I have already arrived at that conclusion. However, 1080p YouTube videos enter full screen mode perfectly fine. A 1080p video played at a lower resolution, like 720p for example, will also fit the entire screen in full screen mode. It's only when the maximum resolution of the video is not 1080p that the pillarboxing occurs.

Also, it's just YouTube's player that has this issue. No other streaming web players on other sites I've been on have been pillarboxed.

Can anyone think of a fix? I've looked around and came up with nothing.
