Picture Quality: LCD VS. CRT Rear Projection

personally I would drop the 2nd LCD choice, the price for size ratio is far to low.
As for comparing the LCD vs CRT, the big difference you are going to get is the color quality. Generally LCD is worse with deep levels of black, however I dont know about this Syntax model. I have another Syntax screen that has issues with blacks, but this one you mention is newer and higher quality than mine. If you can I would go see it in action somewhere to get an idea.
 
yes, they only thing the lcs can beat crt is size, weigh and crt don't have perfect geometry, but exellent b/w and colors
 
Where did u get ur sony crt? hopefully i can find somewhere a new one. used ones are questionable since u don't know how much abuse they had,
 
Personally, if I were looking right now, I would look for a DLP set ... but I'm waiting to see the LCOS drop a bit in price.
 
Rear Projection LCDs are better... I have a Sony 60 inch at home.

I have the 60 inch version of this which is now discotinued for a pricer model and it kicks all forms of ass.
