I was in the market for a new mousepad after going through a couple of them... I hated
how my mousefeet would wear out as soon as the old plastic pad surface wore out.. so
I decided to try the Banshee Pad and take pics since there weren't that many "good" pics
online. I know most have a Func but I needed something bigger.

Here it is in case anyone else is looking at getting one. It will never wear down.. has a
surface texture to track the optical well yet it's perfectly smooth.. the brand new MX518
I just got slides like ice on ice over it. Tracking was perfect on my MX500 and MX518.
It was an extra $5 for the engraving. It's also 14" wide which is one of the reasons I got it
instead of the func.

I even ordered it on Thursday night, email support to see if I could change the engraving
the next day.. they replied the same day saying it would be fine, and when I emailed
them again regarding turn around time they replied that I would be getting it on Tuesday!
(replied twice within 1 day via email)

Overall.. it was a little pricey... about the cost of some cheap shoes... but I already have
a ton of cheap shoes but don't have any aircraft aluminum mousepads with my named
engraved on them lying around. ;) (nice way of saying not to crap on my thread about the value of mousepads)

LOL! Everyone's in trouble now!

the Banshee Pad came with instructions (haha), some teflon dots, and a rubber mat

I tried to show the texture in the aluminum that the optical tracks with.. it completely smooth though.

The etching is laser engraved so it will never wear out.

just to show you the thickness without the rubber matt

Overall.. I never thought I would ever be this impressed by a mousepad... haha

:(

MS Intellimouse 1.1 for me. I will never give it up either! :D

I am ordering some tephlon sheets to see how well they work.

Looks good, i might have to pick me up one of those. How much did you pay for it?

engraved it was like $44.

Awesome mouse pad. :) I've got a Ratpadz and like it for the most part, but that Banshee Pad is pretty nice looking. Perhaps when my Ratpadz begins wearing out (a bit more than it already is, anyway) I'll look into the Banshee.

I've got a func 1030 limited edition MBA, also a nice pad. I'm looking to try out the SteelPad SS though, that seems to be the standard for gaming, especially professionally.

i got a supermat from staples for 8 bucks and my mx510. supermat ownzzz. your pad there is dwarfed by my big freaking supermat!
 nice engraving and stuff tho

lol! I have got about 8 of those supermats from Fry's! I use em for everything..

I have a classic Formingo" (they don't make them anymore. :D , The metal arm pad has rust on it and the chrome is wearing off from years of use. :)

Steelpad 4S would be a good substittue for this. Not quite as wide but taller and a better shape in my opinion.

That is the stock paint job on those mice. Wierd huh?

Looks like someone took a hammer to it

Oh, and sweet pad, I don't know if I could fork out $44 though!

Nice pad. I will always prefer my Compad though, even though it's made from plastic.

A lil tip for those with plastic pads: If it wears out, get a razor blade and just scrape over it a bit with lots of pressure. That will make it like new again.

Yeah.. I looked at those too... it just wasn't wide enough for me at 11.5." The steelpad 4S was about the same height.. actually I think the Banshee pad was about .5" taller. The main selling point for me was 14" wide and made of metal. The engraving was just gravy. Another thing was that reviews were recommending the plastic 4D over the metal 4S... which kinda turned me away too.

I also looked at the Icemat v2 but didn't like the idea of carrying a hunk of glass in my bag when I went to lan parties. I also looked at the func le. mba... but everytime I went to buy one.. they were sold out... Plus it seemed like you were paying the extra money for the base and the nice tin that came with it.. since the mousepad part was the same as the $17 func pad. I even looked at the NGen05 and may still get one of the large mats.. just to have something I could roll up if I want too.

Well, I suppose it depends on your outlook on things. Sure, $44 is a lot to spend on a mousepad, but if you keep that same mousepad for many, many years, then it's a good investment.

I'm almost always willing to pay a little extra for something that's going to have good quality and last a long time.

pretty frickin nice i just wana know how long they last, better or worse than fun1030/ratpadz

the thing is made of aircraft aluminum... so I would hope that it would last forever. :)

QFT.

Since I have replaced 2 Ratpadz and a Everglide... I would have saved money if I would have got this one in the first place.
