well, a few days ago I picked up a Cooler Master CM690II advanced from compUSA. The thing was in the damaged return bin. I took a chance on it and won! I got a case in perfect working order for 49.99! Heres some pics of the case change yesterday.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Here is my old Thermaltake V3, and a comparison of the two cases in size

Replaced the front intake for a 120mm R4 and put the two 140's on top as exhaust.

I like the wiring job behind the mobo, the case was defiantly worth the $50.

oh yea. it definitely was. Especially considering the fact that it is normally $100. :-D This i can say is my first official steal!

Still working on fan placement though. And I want to put a side window.

Now, what do you guys think of i did a side window out of window/door screening instead of plexi? That way its a little different. And along with being able to see the insides it will help with airflow(i would assume)

yay or nay for the screened side panel?

Looks very nice...but why all the 'old lady' stuff on the walls and in the cabinet, you live with grandma? ;)

I have the same case, and love it. Good pick on it, and it looks good. Any plans to mod it or customize it?

Cowboy, yes i live with my mother. and that is her china cabinet.

Dmac - I'm wanting a side window. Still deciding on a design and whether i want to go the traditonal plexi glass route or try something different and go with black window/door screening.

I just bought one of these, and the rest of my stuff will be here soon

It's a great case! I was actually really happy with it for $89! For 50 is an absolute no brainer. I even spent the extra $20 on amazon and have a window side panel. It's gotta be one of the best cases to work on for the money. My wife got a Lian Li PC50R, which is an amazing case, the one she has wanted for probably about a year. It's stunning to behold, however, I liked getting the CM 690 II as it was cheaper..... a WHOLE lot cheaper....and once I am done I think it will be different but look very nice. I am getting a H100 for the price difference of something like what my wife got hehe

Wow, ur new pc thats one cable mess behind motherboard tray. Looks really good through window tho ;)

i went ahead and made a few small changes.

I took out the bottom half of the HDD rack. replaced the CM R4 120mm fan in the botton front for a Xigmatech 140mm. Put the CM R4 120mm into the 5.25" drive bays as an intake and cleaned the cables in back just a little bit.

Ill post a few pictures tomorrow.

Nice job hiding the wiring.
Whats the square grill like thing in front of the PS in pic #7?

That right there is a dust filter i took out of my old thermaltake case for under the PSU. It slid right in
between the rubber feet underneath the cm690.
