Hello, I am desperate, and I will do anything (ANYTHING) to get this setup working for a friend before I leave for the summer.
I bought
Patriot G Series Sector 5 Edition 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model PGV38G1333EL
AMD Phenom II X4 925 Deneb 2.8GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor HDX925WFGMBOX
BIOSTAR TA880GB+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
XIGMATEK BALDER SD1283 120mm Long Life CPU Cooler I7 i5 775 1155 AMD compatible, w/ bracket ACK-I5361
The main problem is that even at stock voltages/clocks, the setup will always post, and boot windows, but fails prime 95 instantly, and blue screens under load.
At stock voltages, speed, and SPD timings, the Ram will fail memtest with a #&$load of errors on the 4th test.
I am not inclined to believe that the brand new memory is dead, and frankly i dont have any other DDR3 to test with. I think there is some mystic set of cmos values that I need to enter for a stable baseline from which to OC from
At one point I had it working great with +.150mv vcore, +.100mv NB-HT, HT Link 2.0ghz
HT Width 16, HT clock 250 (3.499GHZ), RAM 1066, 9-9-9-24 @ 55 deg C under load
The memory is wierd, its rated at 9-9-9-24 however with no configuration the board will run the sticks at 7-7-7-15
I really need to get this sorted out, before I leave in next week for tahoe. I apreciate any help you guys can give me.
