As the title states, I have a SuperMicro X8DTH-6F motherboard. It has an onboard LSI 2008 chipset that has Phase 10 IT firmware. I'm using FreeNAS and in order to move up to release 8.3, I need to have Phase 13 firmware. The #freenas channel on Freenode is saying that I shouldn't be using this chipset in IT mode to begin with. They're telling me to flash to IR Phase 13 (by clearing out the old flash, then performing new flash). They're saying that "IR fw == IT FW+some other bits". Everything I've ever read says that in IR mode, the chipset will turn every disk into it's own little RAID0 and that can cause some SMART info not to be passed to the OS. Can anyone provide some insight or hopefully, the IT FW for my specific chipset? I've tried 2108IT.bin and 2118IT.bin. No luck. SAS2FLSH is reporting my chipset as a 2008(B1). Thanks!
