Phantom console to miss Nov. 18th launch date...

I predict that they will miss the March 05 release date too.

Didn't you know? They've an agreement with 3DRealms to release DNF together with the Phantom. Kind of like the XBox and Halo, you know.

you know, this phantom console will probably be like one of those old cosoles that never made it big, like the 3do or the segacd.

and i seriously dounbt they will release DNF with it.
 
Both the 3DO and Sega CD/32X were bigger than the Phantom will ever be IMO.

But both of those consoles were actually released and had some great games too. This is more like DNF.
 
this really does not surprise me :cool: all Tim Roberts is out to do is steal money from people there is no Phantom Game service and never will be..... I guess I better be careful I might get sued.... :rolleyes: lmmfao
 
something tells me owning one of these is going to be close to having a voodoo 6000 or a FX 5800 Ultra...cool to have but why?

Some people have mentioned that it's decent hardware for $200. Haven't seen non-fanboy takers for the service, though.
 
for $200 it could be one helluva cheap linux box or possibly a HTPC with some mods. That would be freakin cool.
 
wait...i didnt know they even set launch dates. i figured they might set a 'cardboard box day' where they have boxes with the word 'phantom' written on it shipped to stores.

heck. depending what the finial setup of the system is, i may buy one to rip it apart for parts.

You have to wonder who would buy this console, even if it wasnt vaporware. I mean,what kind of PC do you get for $200 that can play the latest games? Im not sure who are the bigger idiots; the people developing this or the investors who keep shoveling money their way.
 
to tell you the truth, i never even heard of the phantom console until this thread. i was checking out their site (www.phantom.net) and it looks pretty sweet, but why have it on demand? why not just continue to have "hard" copies of games that are available for rent at movie stores etc?

It all has serious implications. Infinium Labs regularly scans this board looking for posts by either myself, Morley and Kyle. They image Where Is Phantom on a regular basis and use our site in court. They may not know games very well, but they do know quite a few lawyers. Something to think about.

i can't laugh but think how a five year old could think of a better product then that.
 
200 dollar PC? nothing new. 200 dollar PC thats near 2ghz with dx9 capabilities? i smell modders flocking to this thing if it releases.

just by reading these posts i know this thing is gunna be a major flop, phantom should be abandoned and recreated to what people desire in a console DAMNIT!

Wow, theyre gonna have some serious cash flow on thier hands then. I mean, who didnt own an M2? I cant think of a single person I know that didnt purchase one. .........oh no, no wait, im thinking of "a pair of shoes".

I don't even know if it WILL be a cheap 200 buck HTPC or folding rig or linux box or what have you.... did you guys see the way the hardware has been bastardized in the [H] article? hot glue etc... I know that that was a prototype...but still.
