Hey guys, I just got an old PCI-x gigabit NIC from my work and was wondering if this would work in my standard PCI slot on my mobo. From what I've read it should be fine, but I wanted to quadruple check!

Thanks!

It should work. I've had a few PCI-X cards in PCI slots on my various systems.

Technically not all cards will work, but almost all will as long as they support the correct voltage. I currently use a dual-port PCI-X Intel NIC in a PCI Slot just fine.

works, just limited to PCI slot bandwidth iirc.

(as long as there is clearance on the board)
Clearance can be the fun part sometimes. You never notice what the motherboard manufacturers fit under pci cards until you stick a pci-x card in.
