So I just got paid :D and I need a new monitor for my PS3. Something that can do 1080p and around 24". Here's me options:

  • Buy a BenQ E2400HD
  • Buy a BenQ V2400W
  • Buy a Acer G24 Orange
  • Search Japan and look for a monitor/or hdtv. (would go to akihabara or somewhere, yes i live in japan:D)
 
If you don't want to see black bars on top and bottom then go with the BenQ E2400HD.
If you don't mind then a BenQ V2400W is just damn sexy.
 
I had a BenQ V2400W for almost a week and a half until I sent it back this week. I had to send it back since it came defective with some of the buttons not working on it(Enter) so it gave me extreme headaches. But brightness set to 100% will do that even when you turn it down using Nvidia's control panel. It also had an alignment problem with it's unique stand design. It always felt crooked. I'm currently reviewing/testing out the BenQ E2400HD. I like the fact that's not defective out of the box but the resolution makes you dislike it as a monitor and only like when you watch a 1080p movie which it's too small to do properly(IMO). I want a 1920x1200 or even 2560 x 1600 for my desktop environment and 1920x1080 when I watch HD content. I don't think I would buy this E2400HD knowing what I know now. But I'm picky. I want a 16:10 aspect ratio for a desktop environment and 16:9 for movies (maybe gaming).

OK, so I tried ordering the BenQ E2400HD from newegg's website only to find out that they don't ship to FPO/AP adresses. I was very sad by this, so i decided to explore Japan ;). I saw many nice lcd monitors in Akihabara; however, some of which not within my price range. I was very pleased at the Acer G24; however, costing 600+ in japan was a turn off. i was able to find the BenQ g2400w and e2400hd, i purchased the 2400hd for my ps3. I bring the lcd monitor back home and hooked it up to my ps3, only to find out that my ps3 is getting the "yellow light of death". But, i've hooked my lcd up to my laptop and is working perfectly and looks amazing. Might do a review on the lcd once i get the ps3 working again......stupid ps3.. you make me depressed. :(
