If you have ever played PayDay 2, you know that it can be quite the good time. I am looking forward to getting some time in with the Vive strapped to my head. The PayDay 2 VR beta is out now for free for all PayDay 2 owners on Steam.

Check out the video.

The PAYDAY 2 VR beta begins! If you own a HTC VIVE VR headset you can now enjoy PAYDAY 2 in Virtual Reality either with up to 3 other VR players or any mix of VR and desktop players. Join the beta on Steam to check it out right now!

Hmmm I do own payday 2 -- wonder if there will be any love for the Oculus rift since anything on the steam platform is pretty flexible VR wise. Looks quite fun. Only thing that makes me wonder is the VR movement system in place giving a bit of disadvantage to VR players.

Bitchin video either way :)

Yeah, the VR movement seems odd, many games try to do the VR teleportation when they could just do it with a joystick and have the best of both worlds. Not sure why they don't just put movement control to the joystick (I assume the motion controller has something like one). Let your head movement control the head movement (like freelook) and your body movement control the lean (upper torso).

Cause that method causes motion sickness with a large number of people. I am not one of them but until we solve the locomotion problem everyone is throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.

^^^ This.

I do not get the sickness from the motion though I have almost fallen over a couple of times! My wife though, just a few seconds and she is hurling into the toilet!

Pavlov is probably the best example of why there are issues with stick movement. It makes many people sick. It doesn't make me sick, but it does throw off your equilibrium. Say you're moving forward with the stick, and you stop suddenly. You will notice your body (your REAL one) attempts to compensate for the change in momentum that never actually existed. It's a bit disconcerting at first.
