A map can look complete but not have the check box saying complete. Unfortunately the picture can't show that. Check each map to ensure the bonus is completed.

The picture is accurate thanks to the yellow circles. I hadn't finished Park lol. Hard as hell to find under the influence.

So we've got Juggernaut and Ascendant left to be announced.

They may as well have just renamed Elementalist to Golemancer...especially since Inquisitor makes a better elementalist.

Elementalist changes are truly dogshit if you want to play a caster. It is obvious GGG is still mad about triple diping ignites.

I'm not really sure why I would want to take Pendulum of Destruction - what's the benefit of swinging between 75% increased ele damage and 75% AoE? You must take that one to get to Mastermind of Dischord which focuses on heralds, but the reduced reservation (while nice) wouldn't work with https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/The_Coming_Calamity which seems annoying if you were going for a herald theme. Not the only herald-focused item of course but still.

Still debating on what I want to run to start this league. A full Zombie Necromancer with the Violent Dead jewels and Flesh Binder ascendancy could be a fun starter. Also considering a Bladefall/Bladefury Trickster using Obliteration and the Harness the Void ascendancy.

My hope is that herald of ash is going to get a rework to work with "spells and attacks" but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

The old Pendulum synergized well with Beacon of Ruin to spread ignites via proliferation before the AOE and subsequent ignite nerfs. It seems they just don't know what to do with it anymore.

Bwahaha they just revealed Scion ascendancy rework. Scion elementalist looks better than the entire Witch elementalist ascendancy.

Elementalist + Inquisitor combo looks truly ridiculous.

Yup, it does! Got announced last night...
Apparently the "38% More Burning Damage" mod is local rather than global, while everything else is global. Why it's worded that way I have no idea but that's what I've been seeing.

Yeah, when I first saw that, I 'bout pissed myself...and instantly had an RF build mostly planned out in my head.

And holy stun locking, never missing, unstunnable, always max shit load of endurance charge Juggernaut.

Trying to settle on an Ascendant Combo, thinking Lightning Strike Slayer/Deadeye. A Chieftan/??? Totem build. Or something using the new shield throw spell...but sounds like the skill is hard to scale at some point.

did they fix notable lag issues many folks have had especially when in parties, have they optimized the "effects" yet causing massive performance drops (I can think of a few such as various ground effects from ice/lightning/fire causing horrid FPS therefore latency spikes) they seemed to prioritize making "pretty" vs making the gameplay smooth even when those things were added.

I know many many folks issued concerns/complaints about this more than once at least when I got fed up of having to deal with it, did not seem to matter if their system was high spec or just able to play it either, and they either turned a blind eye to it, never commented on such,
or the community told the folks who were having problems to go fly a kite.

It really sucked when attempting to do labyrinth when you just used a key and the latency gets you killed (because of the stupid spikes) or a desync type deal totally kicks from server where even if one came back online (when in a party) you generally were SOL.

Want people to play and pay, but not really optimize performance overall because of priority being put on "we need to make it "oh this looks amazing and sounds ok" but those same effects/sounds not done well cause crashes/spikes/slowdowns (the wizard type tended to be the most horrid in the party)

Anyways, played for quite awhile, got tired of dealing with it. (system is not high end but it works well and is "fast" for what it is, right at start someone mentioned "this is what D3 should have been" IMHO, nah D3 I NEVER had the performance issues that I did with PoE EVER)

You probably never played cutting edge builds. I remember when I used to play D3 I could literally make people lag out/disconnect at will with the static charge monk build if I debuffed too many mobs on top of the build being extremely laggy to being with. I made top #6 solo monk in the Americas using it.

I plasyed numerous extreme tier build in D3, wizard, monk, barbarian, crusader running solo as well as season play, my wizard I was in top 10 for that season last day of season dropped to 20th place, my zader was in top 50 once got my build fine tuned, monk top 30.
I only "lagged out" one person I used to play with, but, his system had issues, everyone else no problem hours at a time running multiple high end zones for final season objectives, we never seemed to have "nearly" the same issues that I noticed
far more times than I would like to count with PoE...everyone "claims" D3 is poorly optimized etc etc..sorry, but PoE takes that cake and then some.

Am happy if it works for "some" people but I can guarantee you that many who "claim" to not have issues with it ever, just do not want to admit pulling their hair out with some of the issues THEY have had
(have to make self look better than the joneses sort of speak)
too many effects that try to stack on top of each other, sound layering not being well done, poor multi-core optimization etc etc..

Shame because I "mostly" enjoyed PoE even with all of its quirks, D3 absolutely had some of its own as does any game, but I seriously have not been as frustrated with a game more than was with PoE beyond world of hella BS tanks ^.^

I think it just really lacked proper optimization, they wanted to jack in as much as they could to up the glitz factor, not keep performing well, one update problems, next update fixed some of the problems bring a host of others etc.

was just "wondering" if they have since fixed some of the lag/disconnect issues and general performance optimizations that have been done in the past year or so, because I have not seen anything in this regard, seems same old same old,
add more shit if works for you awesome, if it does not, ahh well fk sucks to be you type attitude devs and playerbase alike seem to give

(in my honest opinion, and through my experience, report a "problem" and get told right off instead of maybe trying to get assistance to mitigate the issue, the "cop out" of "you need a better system" does not fly with PoE
AT ALL, because there have been just as many folks with issues from systems that cost 4-8x what mine did/does, and folks that have a pretty shitty system that also share those issues
no matter if Intel, AMD, Geforce or Radeon.

They have made many many improvements to the game over the past couple of years - the most recent was a replacement effect for "burning ground" which was a notorious performance killer. Their need to boost performance on the Xbox One has fueled many performance improvements of late - is your system at least on par with an Xbox One?

I haven't had issues with desync since they launched "lockstep" mode back in April 2015, which introduced traditional server-client communication and doesn't rely on server prediction. "Predictive" mode is also much better as GGG learned much when designing lockstep. If you have bad ping you're gonna have a bad time in PoE - same as any server-based game.

As far as group play goes, I don't have many friends that play the game and I also play hardcore, so I mostly solo. They have made no attempt to limit the clusterfuck of spells when multiple players play together and I don't believe they've commented either way about implementing a "low effects for party member spells" kind of option, though some have asked for it.

Bestiary is the one of the coolest leagues they've ever done. The amount of polish they've done to the game is crazy in terms of the UI and graphics.

Its super newbie friendly now. You have so many more opportunities to get solid gear for leveling now. Progression feels great. I don't feel any desire to waste any currency on a leveling weapon or something now which is great.

Too many vets of this game are probably jaded at this point. I know I was and almost didn't even start a character for this league. If POE was released in it's current state it would probably be considered the greatest ARPG of all time. Seriously. I've put too many hours into a this point, but if you've never played it, then you need to do so.

I last played october 2017 if I recall correctly, first play was early 2015 (played daily) so am aware of the lockstep thing, my system is "on par" +/-
Phenom II 955 (clocked to 3.84 or so when I played PoE to help mitigate any cpu thrashing which helps vs the default 3.2)
Radeon 7870 (basically the same gpu that both ps4/XB1 use)
8gb ddr3 running "tweaked" for best performance I can given my system 1776Mhz 9,10,9,26,37
running off SSD.

cannot tell you how many times tried different gpu drivers (used to mine a bunch, so, had to try different drivers to chase the best performance I could)

the burning ground (and lightning zappy ground) horrible performance loss (in most cases) especially when in a party, I played a lot of solo, but also played quite a bit of party stuff (when had trouble running something by myself)
I do not think they will "commit" to general player asks/conceners about optimizing when many are together, likely they figure "we are making money, who gives a damn if folks are not fully enjoying it because of the horrid performance hit many complain about"

I think the worst "desync" or whatever I ever get is party based running in (usually) near end eternal labyrinth (because of the crap ton of spells and traps all over the damn place) maybe part of the "issue" seems to be the whole dynamic graphics scaling does not seem to do much of anything, I know my gpu has a slight bottleneck to begin with (around 5% unless I clock up to 4.2Ghz) could be the memory not purging properly or something,

I have noticed that if too many zones or whatever, performance starts off at ~120FPS, 8-14ms latency usually a ping of around 65, it will tank to 30 odd fps-18-25 and ~92ping...maybe that is very much the "core" of the problems that I notice, too many effects etc chewing into memory and not clearing out or some shit like that (who knows, but I do notice the "over time" performance hit, more so when go areas or play with multiple folks with spells galore)

I'm kind of a noob in this game, and I have the same issue as in early D3 and grim dawn, I don't get what looks like usefull loot anymore and I am starting to get burned out by all the quick deaths, also there are some gems that wont upgrade anymore due to me not having enough str or dex.

I got the feeling I'm doing the gearing thing wrong but if I google for some extra info it seems to go already more in depth then where I'm at.

If anyone can give me a few quick tips for a starting player using a witch, I'm around lvl 35 ish.

I was excited for this league but this seems like a total bust.

There is something really wrong when you have to expressly stop and go to town to remove 90% of your damage output just so you don't one shot a beast you need to capture and on top of that the clunky as fuck net mechanic where you'd be lucky to cast it on the correct mob and not on one of the others in the clusterfuck surrounding it. This is specially bad for Necro summoner builds who have no control over their minions and even more comical for Slayers where throwing a net also had culling strike and killed the mob outright instead of capturing it.

To their credit they've released a few bandaid patches to fix the broken net capture mechanic which in its initial state left you a ridiculous window of time to cast the nest and capture a mob as low as 0.2 seconds before the mob broke free and enraged making it uncapturable.

But today, showing how little in-depth testing they actually accomplish between leagues a few economy killing exploits made it through their QA. It all revolves around the beastcrafting "splitting" recipe in the recently deployed patch 3.2.0b where it splits the mods of an item and in the process it also duplicates the item.

With that recipe you can dupe 6 socket linked items but that is not so bad since it only works on rare items and every split removes the existing mods of the item until you are left with several 6 linked just blue/magic items meaning you still need to invest further currency into them to make them worth something. In a way that is good since it makes them more accessible to more players.

The second one is worse though. The "splitting" recipe explicitly states that it doesn't work on Elder and Shaper items (the rarest and potentially most powerful items in the game) but it actually does work.

https://clips.twitch.tv/ViscousPhilanthropicDogRiPepperonis

And if that wasn't enough you can also use the "splitting" recipe on items with Labyrinth enchants and they retain the enchant which completely ruins that aspect of the economy. Helm enchants for meta builds carry a premium price every league and many people farm the lab for them and now someone can just buy your item and dupe it as many times as they want totally flooring the value of them.

Can you explain?
The beastcrafting recipe takes a rare item and it splits the mods it has and creates a copy. But it also seems to retain the labyrinth enchants you put on it.

Normally one has to run the labyrinth over and over until you got the enchant you wanted out of hundreds of different ones. If the enchant was needed/good for a meta build it carried a hefty price and this is how many players made their currency. With this recipe you can instead just pony up the price for an already enchanted base item like below and use it over and over to dupe that base item with that enchant. Note the item level of the item (84) guarantees the highest/best mods that can roll on it from crafting.

Here's an example of someone who used the recipe to do just that.

splitting recipe duping.png

The kicker is that it doesn't really cost anything in terms of currency to obtain the materials needed for the recipe. You simply have to capture the correct beasts in the game needed for it.

Oh and because of all these issues they disabled the recipe

Even though I have a L90 Raider character in the Bestiary league I have little motivation to log in and play him. They nerfed the currency and map droprates, and the league mechanics are pretty much non existent to the point it plays just like standard. Why play a temp league when I can play Standard with mirrored and legacy gear.

They did spend a lot of effort into making the assets etc for Bestiary league, it was most likely an expansion to be added to the base game but for some reason they rushed it out as a league instead. Outside a couple leveling recipes and one or two situational ones, the crafting mechanic is quite poor - worse then using an essence or even worse than using an alch - as with those you can at least choose the base you are crafting on.

On the bright side the system does have promise - it is an ok foundation for future development, like adding actual useful recipes (without the crazy layered RNG) and such. So it's possible that the work they put into this will have potential to be great someday, but this isn't the league for it.

What trade site/tools do you guys use?

Poe.trade and poeapp.com are my go-tos, but just wondering if there's anything better out there.

Royale is fun, but the archer builds tend to be overpowered just starting out. I played about and hour last night. They kite and kill you fairly easily. Still fun.

I made it as high as final six. My best run was an assassin with claws and life steal, killed by getting too far outside the collapsing circle and running out of health potions. It was fun to kill multiple other contenders on that run. (Killed about six other players)

How does one transfer gear from Bestiary to standard league. I've seen some bestiary gear on the trade board for standard, but I was under the impression that it was impossible.

Those are from the HC bestiary league. When you die in a hardcore temp league your character (and any gear on him at the moment) gets transferred over to standard league.

Sometimes the wealthy standard league crafters will put in orders for certain crafting bases, and players who acquire them will put the base on a lvl1 character and RIP it to standard. Once the league is done all characters/gear/stash tabs will be transferred over to either std or hc-std.
