Woohoo, passed with a 641. I was really nervous, but it was a lot easier than I expected! :D

Next up, Security+.

sweet, how much did it cost?

i need to get my network+ other certs done before i graduate, but i can't find a place that offers them.

did you just take the test, or did you do the course that goes along with it?

I just did mine this summer too. ~780. Boo-yah.

I didn't take any classes, I just use the exam cram book. (Though, it was for the old objectives, which I only figured out once i started the test. Doh!) I have a fair bit of networking experience already though, so i just used the book to brush up on unfamiliar things.

oddly enough that was the one i was planning on taking soon, what kinds of questions do you think were the hardest? Any examples?

The hardest questions were about what kind of protocols and commands to use when setting up networks. Nothing too hard! Most of the questions were actually about speed, distance, and media types. There were 0 questions on the OSI model; I was shocked. I used http://www.vtc.com for video instruction on the objectives. It was a very easy way for me to learn and I get access to all kinds of certification videos(including Security+ which I'm working on now).

I used http://www.getcertify4less.com/ for a test voucher. It was $148 instead of the normal $218 and also had a very nice guide for taking the exam and a 99 question practice test which proved useful.

By the way, I had no prior networking experience other than setting up one tiny proxy server and a few small wireless networks. I feel a lot more comfortable with basic networking now.
