Hey everyone, i just put a fresh install of Vista 64bit on a brand new 500gb hard drive.

I tried making a few partitions, (my first time) and didn't get the sizes right. I now need to combine 2 drives into one bigger one if thats possible. I also have 265gb that is unallocated. Guess i didn't know to use up all the space when partitioning.

Is it possible to combine 2 drives into one, or just change the size and make one much larger?

And, how do i turn all that unallocated space into a usable drive?

Combining partitions could take forever!

Instead, backup the data from both partition, delete the partitions, and create a single partition at the combined size.
Then, transfer the data back to the partitions.

Edit:
If one of the two partitions contains your OS, only delete the other. Then, resize the OS partition.

What might work:

Doesn't really take that long, Vista's diskmanagement should be able to extend your current partition

If no OS is installed, You can run diskpart from the Vista Installation command line and extend

If not, I don't think it will take that long, you can use a program (parted magic for example) to merge the partitions
